A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 901

Early the next morning.

Starla had just come downstairs for breakfast when Rudolf arrived. He brought someone she didn't recognize, but the man was undoubtedly one of Herbert Farley's subordinates.

Taking a slow sip of her coffee, Starla didn't even spare Rudolf a glance.

"Ms. Lansbury, please let us know what you need to bring," Rudolf said smoothly. "I'll have someone pack your bags immediately."

At that, she finally lifted her eyes to look at him. "What is that supposed to mean?"

Her tone was ice-cold, but Rudolf maintained his polite facade. "We are here to escort you to the Black Sea."

"I'm not going."

Her refusal was absolute. Even if she had to leave Yoran Country, she wasn't about to head to some godforsaken place like the Black Sea. She would only go where she wanted to go.

Yesterday, Herbert had been uncompromising. Fairfax Yelchin had also called, insisting she leave with Seymour.

She was truly caught in the lion's den this time. The entire situation was beyond infuriating.

Hearing her stubborn response, Rudolf's respectful demeanor took on a hard edge. "Your brother has already agreed to let Mr. Farley take you to the Cyrus Sea."

Starla froze.

Her grip on her coffee mug faltered, and the dark liquid splashed across the table. The maids rushed forward to clean up the mess.

Her eyes, filled with raw hostility, snapped back to Rudolf. "What did you just say?"

Yardley Hoggart had actually agreed to this?

All the warmth drained from her already cold expression. She could hardly believe her ears. Did Yardley actually trust Herbert, or were they tied together by some massive, hidden agenda?

Putting Brinley Seabrook's death aside, now he was endorsing this trip...

In that split second, Starla genuinely began to doubt if Yardley was even her biological brother. If he was her real family, how could he treat her like this? He knew exactly how sensitive she was regarding anything to do with Brinley. He knew how much she despised Herbert now. And yet, he stood by Herbert's sideโ€”time and time again.

"Mr. Hoggart is aware that you are going to the Black Sea with us today," Rudolf pressed. "He gave his consent."

"Ha!"
