A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 910

She was already furious!

Now, hearing him drop the "husband" card sent her over the edge.

Enraged, she slammed her finger on the screen and hung up.

...

En route to the Black Sea, Fairfax wasn't the least bit surprised to be hung up on.

Sitting across from him, Amos had heard most of the exchange. He handed Fairfax a glass of wine. "Your wife has quite the temper."

"If she had a good temper, do you think she would have single-handedly burned the Yelchin empire to the ground?"

Amos paused.

Fair point!

If Starla had been the forgiving type, his family wouldn't be in ruins.

"The way you say that... do you blame her for it?" Amos asked.

Any normal man would harbor massive resentment. She had literally teamed up with Herbert to dismantle a legacy family out of sheer spite. Most men wouldn't be able to stomach that, let alone remain obsessively devoted to her.

That was what surprised Amos the most...

"Blame her? Do I even have the right?"

Fairfax downed the wine in one gulp, his expression clouding over. He thought back to the child they had lost. If he had just trusted her a fraction more, their baby would be two years old by now. It was a devastating tragedy...

"Well, Herbert and Yardley are definitely going to be biting at your heels like rabid dogs now," Amos noted.

Amos didn't care much about Herbert, but Yardley could be an absolute lunatic when provoked.

"How did Yardley not know Herbert was heading to the Black Sea?"
