Inside the car, Caden kept talking, while Darian remained steeped in silence. The truth in Caden's words cut so deep that Darian had no idea how to respond. It hurt so much that he finally reached his breaking point.
"Enough. Stop talking!"
If Caden kept going, Darian felt like his heart would be ripped to bloody shreds. He couldn't bear to listen anymore.
"Don't want to hear it?" Caden asked.
Of course he didn't. The truth was too ugly. He was afraid that if he heard any more, he'd plunge deeper into despair. Things between him and Tanya were already bad enough; having Caden repeatedly confirm that their relationship was hopeless only amplified the agony.
"Look at how Starla handled things with Herbert," Caden pointed out. "Women these days won't just sit back and take the abuse. If you think you can keep her around as some kind of subservient prisoner, you need to give up."
"Who said anything about making her a prisoner?"
"Then what do you call her? You're completely ignoring her will and keeping her locked up."
Tanya clearly didn't want to be with him right now, yet he was forcing her into a position where she couldn't fight back. If that wasn't imprisonment, what was?
Darian's already unsteady breathing grew even more ragged at Caden's words.
"Starla is definitely going to help her," Caden added.
It went without saying how close the two women were. With Tanya in this situation, Starla was bound to intervene. And even though Starla was currently at war with Herbert and the Hoggart family, she was a force to be reckoned with. If she decided to help Tanya, Darian wouldn't be able to stop her.
Just the thought of Starla getting involved made Darian's frustration spike. Why had he deployed so many men around Tanya's place lately? To fend off Brinley's ghosts, sure, but also to stop the Lynn family from getting to her. Thinking about his mother's attitude toward Tanya gave him a splitting headache.
...
Even after Caden's harsh lecture, Darian failed to see the light. Human nature is funny like thatโit's easy to spot the mistakes others are making, but when you're in the same situation, you're completely blind to your own flaws.

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
