Jacqueline and Yates were drenched.
After spitting the water, Nolan's body went limp again.
"Aaargh! I'm so pissed off! Yates, I'm going to lose my mind!" Jacqueline shrieked, her makeup completely ruined, leaving her looking disheveled and pathetic.
Yates wasn't in much better shape. His face was already injured, and now it was covered in water. He was so furious he could barely contain himself, a burning desire to punch Nolan consuming him. He felt like he and Nolan were destined to clash.
Yates stood up, still feeling dizzy. The water that had trickled into his mouth tasted of blood. He looked up and met Jacqueline's enraged gaze. Swallowing his anger, he tried to console her. "Let's go clean up. I'll make him drink it when we get back."
He swore to himself that once he got the money, he would find a way to make Nolan pay for this, tenfold.
Jacqueline stomped her foot but held back her temper. Thinking of the plan ahead, she turned and went into the bathroom.
Yates followed her in.
Once the sound of running water started, Nolan dared to open his eyes. He quickly swapped the positions of the two water bottles.
The clean bottle was still sealed. Worried they'd notice, he quickly twisted the cap off and took a big gulp. Now the water levels were different. But since the bottles were in separate spots and their focus was on forcing him to drink, he gambled that they wouldn't notice the switch - or the difference in volume.
It all took less than twenty seconds. He then lay back down on the sofa, resuming his act of a deeply intoxicated man.
