In the days that followed, Janina settled into a comfortable routine.
The further along she got in her pregnancy, the more cumbersome her body became. She sometimes suffered from insomnia at night, and Grace, worried about her daughter, would always be there to help her up.
As a mother-to-be, Janina gradually cut back on her work. The launch of her independent brand was still six months away, and for now, she was focused on preparations.
She would occasionally send design drafts to the Nova Group to earn a little extra money. Ava often teased her about it.
"I'd better cherish these while I can," Ava would say. "Once your own brand takes off, you'll see the Nova Group as your competition."
Janina slowly stepped back from her work commitments.
Another month passed. With two months left until her due date, Janina's feet were severely swollen, and her body felt so heavy that even walking was a struggle.
Every morning, she needed her mother to pull her up or support her back just to sit up in bed.
Carrying twins was far more demanding than a single pregnancy.
Grace's leg had fully recovered, and she would walk with Janina in their neighborhood for over an hour every day.
Ethan was overjoyed for Grace. "She's just getting in shape to be a grandmother," he would joke. "Practicing for walks with the kids."
Grace would smile. "Of course. We'll each take one when the time comes."
At the mention of this, Grace suddenly grew sentimental. "We really owe it all to Fairchild. If it weren't for him, I'd still have a limp, and you'd have been blind for the rest of your life."
Ethan nodded in agreement. "Yes, Fairchild's medicine is incredible. He video-called me last night to say he'd caught a few big fish and was sending three of them over this morning for us to make soup."
Fairchild was living a carefree life in the countryside with Easton Holt.
Of course, he was the only one living carefree. His days were filled with eating, drinking, and having fun.
Easton, on the other hand, was incredibly busy, cultivating all sorts of fruits and vegetables in his fields.
He had hired two dedicated salespeople to manage his distribution.
In this internet age, a few videos about his organic produce was all it took for his popularity to soar.
Some business owners even drove out to the countryside to inspect his farm themselves.
