Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 217

It was the only photo she had that included West.

She had kept it not because she couldn't bear to part with him, but because Clark was also in the picture.

After she broke up with West, she had been so afraid of people knowing about their relationship that she had erased every trace of him.

They had taken so many pictures together, and she had destroyed them all.

Not a single one was left.

Marjorie was suddenly filled with regret. Why had she been so ruthless?

If she had just kept one photo of them together, she would have an excuse to talk to him now.

In the picture, West was standing in the corner, a shy smile on his young face.

She gently traced the blurry figure with her finger.

She suddenly realized that she had lost more than just a relationship; she had lost someone who would have done anything for her.

Finally, after a full day of inner turmoil, Marjorie made a decision that night.

She opened her messaging app and first checked her chat with Clark. Still no new messages.

She scrolled down, searching for a long time before she remembered she had deleted West from her contacts long ago.

Fortunately, she still remembered his phone number.

They had gotten matching numbers as a couple, though she had changed hers immediately after they broke up.

Remembering this, she quickly opened her phone's address book, found West's number, and composed a text.

[West, congratulations on the new car. Wishing your business continued success.]

West was out for a walk with his family, carrying two bags of fruit.

When his phone chimed with a notification, he didn't check it right away.

He assumed it was just spam, but then worried he might miss a message from work. Finally, he freed a hand and pulled his phone from his pocket.

The text was from an unknown number.

He didn't like dragging things out.

Marjorie had a boyfriend. For her to be contacting her ex-boyfriend was just wrong.

He hoped Marjorie would stop trying to contact him and just let them both keep a little bit of dignity.

The weather in May was pleasant, neither too hot nor too cold.

The mornings were especially beautiful, with perfect sunshine and a gentle breeze.

But Janina was not feeling well at all. She often felt a tightness in her chest and had trouble breathing. That morning, she had to go to the hospital for an oxygen treatment.

Ethan and Grace couldn't drive, and Janina, with her large belly, didn't feel safe behind the wheel.

Fortunately, Wendy was off work that day. She had planned to visit Janina anyway, so when she called and heard Janina was going to the hospital, she offered to go with her.

Janina noticed that the hospital was always crowded, no matter the time of day.

Just waiting in line for her check-up took nearly two hours that morning.
