The air in the banquet hall was sweet with that soft floral scent we’d spent weeks adjusting. Less than forty-eight hours before the big Omega banquet kicked off, Iglanced down at the long parchment checklist in my hand one last time, making sure every tiny detail had been handled exactly the way I wanted. Honestly, this might be the most effort I’ve ever poured into anything I just wanted to give the Omegas-those who’ve spent years stuck at the very bottom of the pack-a stage where they could finally feel safe, seen, and actually shine.
I was just about to roll up the document when a maid came hurrying toward me, uniform neat but her face a mess of partic Sweat dotted her forehead like she’d sprinted the whole way.
“Luna Ashley!” she practically yelped, voice shaking. “Something’s gone really wrong in the warehouse! The banquet props you specially ordered-they’ve been seriously damaged! You need to check it right now!”
My stomach dropped. Those props were the centerpiece of the entire setup. There was no way anything could go wrong at this point.
“I’m going,” I said without hesitation, tossing the papers aside and heading straight for the big supply warehouse behind the
manor.
The moment I shoved the warehouse door open, I froze. That… was not what I expected.
Inside, nothing was smashed. No broken decorations, no mess. Instead, the place was completely packed-more than a dozen Omegas standing around awkwardly. My eyes immediately locked onto familiar faces. Sophia. Vivian. Steve. Three of the most reliable people on the whole team. I’d already marked them down mentally as the ones I wanted to mentor personally
But they should’ve been busy at their workstations right now. Why on earth would they all be here?
“Why are you guys here?” I demanded, frowning hard.
Sophia blinked at me, confusion written all over her face.
“Luna Ashley, we came because of your message,” she said, sounding honestly lost. “It said you needed us here immediately. Something about an important new task.”
“That wasn’t me!” I shot back. I hadn’t given any such order. The maid lied. This was a setup.
“Everyone, move! Get out of here now!” I yelled at the group. “Go, right now!”
But the second I spun toward the exit-bang!
The heavy iron door slammed shut in my face.
A heartbeat later, the sharp clack of metal chains locking into place echoed from the other side
“Open it! Open this damn door!” Steve shouted, rushing forward and beating on the iron surface with his palms. A few stranger Omegas joined him, tugging and yanking at the handle, but the door didn’t budge an inch. It was locked tight
“Check the other exits!” I forced myself to stay calm, even as my pulse hammered.
But after only a few minutes, everyone returned-ashen, panicked, defeated.
“All the vents and skie doors are sealed shut, Luna Ashley!” Vivian cried, voice cracking as heary welled up faint pe EROT flooding her eyes
We’re completely trapped in here
My mind was running at full speed, inde the huge territory of the Bloodmoor Pock the lyp ba had Ball Pr and the guts to pull off something this vicimus honestly, besides that agant,

But what the hell was she atming for? Just to mess up the Omega banquet out of spite? Or was she coming straight for me? None of it made sense. This was the core of Bloodmoon Pack’s manor. The warehouse was remote, sure, but definitely not some isolated dead zone. With Hebert’s sharp instincts, he’d notice something off here fast. If Cecilia really planned this… she was basically digging her own grave.
Then a sharp scream suddenly ripped through the air.
“Fire! There’s a fire!” Vivian pointed toward the back of the warehouse, her voice shaking so hard it barely sounded like her.
I whipped around. Shock slammed into me so hard my pupils tightened on instinct.
In the dim corner of the warehouse, a burst of blinding orange flames was climbing up the wooden crates, spreading crazily. Thick black smoke poured upward like some venomous serpent, filling the sealed space in seconds.
“Put it out! Find an extinguisher!” I shouted, already sprinting toward the fire hydrant by the wall.
But before we could even get close to the flames, another panicked cry shot out.
“It’s burning over here too!”
I spun back in disbelief. On the opposite side of the warehouse, another explosion of fire had erupted out of nowhere. There was no way this was accidental. Someone had lit these fires on purpose. The flames were like starving demons, devouring everything around them. In just moments, the heat turned brutal, burning against our skin as the fire spread wildly.
