ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED TO THE BILLIONAIRE SINGLE DAD (Gabrielle and Damon) novel Chapter 174

CHAPTER 174

GABRIELLE’S POV

My head was still throbbing lightly.

I removed the needle from my skin, and observe the content in the syringe.

Brandi had only managed to inject half of the liquid into my arm.

I emptied what was left in it on the rug and turned to her. I didn’t understand what I had done immediately.

Until the blood started spraying.

Brandi staggered backward, her eyes wide with shock as her hand flew to her neck. The scissors was still buri

the side of it.

A choking sound escaped her throat.

Blood poured through her fingers and splattered across the floor.

I stood there for a long minute, watching her face contort with shock and pain,

Oh God,I whispered.

She collapsed to her knees, gurgling as more blood spilled down the front of her dress.

The black dress was still in my hands.

It slipped from my fingers and fell over her shoulder, instantly soaking up the blood pouring from her neck.

I stumbled back, my entire body shaking.

Oh my goodness.

A sharp knock came from the door.

My heart nearly stopped.

Miss Brandi?a guard called from the other side. Everything alright in there?

Panic shot through me.

I looked down at Brandi.

She was now twitching weakly on the floor, blood spreading beneath her.

Fuck,I whispered. Think, Gabrielle.

Another knock.

Miss Brandi, the Don is asking for the lady.

My hands were shaking so badly I could barely move, but I had to force myself to think.

If he walked in, he would see everything.

The broken mirror, the blood, and Brandi’s body that had almost stopped twitching.

She was definitely dying.

CHAPTER 174

I grabbed Brandi under the arms and dragged her across the floor. Her body was heavier than I expected, an heels scraped loudly against the tile.

Shitshit

The guard rattled the handle.

I shoved her under the bed just as the door creaked open slightly.

Blood smeared across the floor where I had dragged her.

I yanked the bedding down from the mattress and wiped at the worst of it before stuffing the bloodied sheets under the bed as well.

My heart was beating so violently that it felt like it would burst out of my chest.

The guard pushed the door open another inch. Miss Brandi?

I rushed forward before he could step inside and grabbed the door.

She’s busy,I said quickly.

He frowned slightly when he saw me. You took a while to answer.

I was trying to change but the Madame didn’t like any of the dresses,I lied as best as I could, forcing my voic to stay calm.

His eyes moved briefly over my shoulder, trying to look into the room.

I stepped forward quickly, blocking his view.

The Don asked for me,I said. You should take me now before he gets mad.

He hesitated for a second, then grabbed my arm. Let’s go.

I let out a low sigh of relief as he pulled me into the hallway, forcing myself not to look back at the room.

Brandi’s body was still under the bed and there was blood everywhere.

If anyone found her before Damon arrived, I was as good as dead.

The guard tightened his grip on my arm and began leading me down the familiar corridor from last night.

We stopped in front of the huge double doors and a second later, they opened from the inside.

Maybe it was because Rocco was watching us from his thronelike chair, but the guard was gentle with me this time.

I walked in on my own before the door shut behind me.

A slow smile spread across Rocco’s face when I stepped closer.

Well, look at that,he said, his eyes traveling over me slowly. Brandi did a decent job.

A sick twist settled in my stomach at the mention of her

name, and at the thought that the man before me was

thinking about me in a lewd way.

I began to feel lightheaded.

CHAPTER 174

It was probably from whatever Brandi injected into me.

At the same time, I felt my nipples harden, pushing against the fabric of my dress like they wante

I swallowed and forced myself to stay calm.

How much time is left?he asked casually.

One of the men standing near the wall checked his watch. About thirty minutes, Don.

And Damon still hadn’t shown up.

Rocco leaned back in his chair, studying my face carefully. Leave now. All of you.

The guards in the room walked out.

You look nervous,Rocco said when we were alone.

I didn’t respond.

He chuckled darkly. Don’t tell me you’re still hoping he’ll show up.

My voice came out low. He will.

Rocco let out a laugh, the sound deep and ugly.

No,he said calmly. He won’t.

The room tilted slightly and I blinked hard.

The injection was starting to work.

Rocco noticed immediately.

His smile widened. Ah, there it is.

My legs felt weaker with every passing second, and a strange warmth spread through my body.

I hated it.

Did that liquid contain an aphrodisiac?

I gripped the edge of a nearby table to steady myself.

Rocco leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. You know what I think? I think Damon Gravari learned something the first time.

My breath came out in slow, short bursts.

What?I forced out.

That sacrificing himself for a woman was a stupid mistake,he said, his eyes gleaming. He already did it once and he paid for it. I doubt he’s eager to repeat the experience.

The words stabbed into my chest. You’re wrong. He promised to kill you and he always keeps his word. Unlike you, he talks like that because he can back it up.

My voice sounded weaker now, theth in my veins spreading, making my limbs feel heavy and my thoughts

slow.

Rocco stood up and despite his size, he moved fast.

Within seconds he was standing in front of me.

You know,he said thoughtfully, I was planning to pass you around immediately after our first night togeth

His hand reached out and grabbed my arm.

I stiffened.

But then I thoughthe continued. Why not enjoy the prize alone for a while first?

Rocco leaned closer, probably to kiss me and I turned my face to the side sharply.

He didn’t look too pleased with that.

I forced my mind to focus through the fog creeping into it. I had to stall him even if it was just for a minute.

Wait,I said quickly.

Rocco paused, his frown deepening. What?

I swallowed. Why did Damon change his name? I heard he used to be called Damien.

He stared at me with a confused expression. You know about his past?

When I said nothing, he smirked.

He studied me for a moment, then shrugged.Fine. We have a few minutes. And the drug hasn’t completely kicke in. You’ll be all over me when it does.

I had to repress the urge to throw up in his face.

I would never want anyone other than my Damon.

He began pacing slowly in front of me.

When I found him,Rocco said, Damien Gravari was already dead and Stench was born. Do you know about Stench?

I didn’t answer his question.

His smile widened.

Stench was a fine weapon, and he made me a lot of money in the fight club before I became the Don of Dons,he continued proudly. His father created him but I sharpened him myself.

That made my skin crawl.

But with his father dead,he said, I needed him to take over the Gravari fortune and support my claim. So he needed a name.

He shrugged.

He didn’t want to be called Damien. But he had to choose something close enough to the original one- something that wouldn’t arouse legal suspicions.
