CHAPTER 175
DAMON’S POV
[CONTENT WARNING: I NOW REALIZED I’VE WRITTEN WORSE SO JUST READ ON. ENJOY 🙂]
While my security, Rhys, and his men handled Rocco’s guards, I pushed past them and stormed into the building.
I ran out of bullets in my guns before I could reach Gabrielle, shooting anyone who stood in my way without
hesitation.
I wasn’t familiar with his villa, and if I wasted time searching every room, it might already be too late by the time I found them.
After giving one of the guards a proper beating, he finally broke and led me to Rocco.
I let him scramble away for his life after that.
I pushed the door open and found Rocco leaning over the wall, his body blocking my view.
That was when I heard Gabrielle struggling and trying to pull away from him.
Something inside me snapped.
I picked up a dagger from the fruit table and drove it straight into Rocco’s back without thinking twice.
I left it there, not bothering to pull it out as he collapsed to the ground.
For the first time in days, my eyes finally landed on Gabrielle.
And my heart nearly stopped.
Her face was pale and her body swayed like she couldn’t stay on her feet.
I caught her before she hit the floor.
Her body was burning up.
My jaw clenched as I pulled her closer against me, one hand gripping the back of her head.
“You’re safe now, wife,” I said roughly. “I’ve go.”
Her fingers weakly grabbed my shirt. “Damon… I knew you would come.”
The way
she said my name made something tight in my chest loosen for the first time since she was taken.
I wiped away the tear that fell down her cheek. “Of course, I would. Always.”
She cried and held onto my shoulders as she pressed her face into the crook of my neck.
My hands roamed over her body quickly, checking her for injuries.
“Did he hurt you?” I asked, my voice darker now.
“No,” she choked out.
I sat on the floor and held her until she stopped crying–and until her body stopped trembling.
My eyes flicked to Rocco on the floor, still choking on his own blood and trying to call for help.

I had made sure that there was none coming.
I felt Gabrielle’s hand moving down my chest slowly, planting kisses on my neck and pressing herself against me.
I pulled away just enough to look down at her face. “What did that bastard give you?”
She shook her head. “I don’t know. They… injected something into my arm. It’s making me… turned on.”
Unfiltered rage burned through me at her words.
My gaze dropped to her arm immediately and I saw the small injection mark.
I was going to make him regret every single thing he did to her.
Gabrielle’s hands moved slowly over my chest again and her lips brushed against my jaw as she pressed herself closer to me.
I caught her wrists gently.
That made her raise her face to look at me. “What? You don’t want me?”
My heart squeezed.
rse, I’d always want her.
ways need her.
Her skin was flushed and her breathing had grown heavier.
‘m always ready for you,” I said, keeping my voice calm despite the storm in me, “but not before I make good of
promise I made to you last night–and to myself for the past fifteen years.”
She stared at me for a second, then leaned closer and brushed her lips against mine in a slow, gentle kiss.
I kissed her back, feeling every single fear of losing her fade away.
Gabrielle always did things to me that weren’t ordinary, like she was healing the dark parts of my soul with just her touch.
When she pulled back, her eyes were still hazy.
“That turned me on even more,” she breathed. “Hurt him, Damon. I want you to hurt him badly.”
My jaw clenched. “Anything for you, wife.”
I set her carefully against the wall so she could sit without falling over.
“Stay there,” I said.
She nodded and hesitantly let me go.
I stood and walked toward Rocco.
He was trying to drag himself across the floor, blood spreading beneath him as he struggled to breathe.
He turned his face to the side when he saw me approaching him.
I lifted him a bit with my foot and pulled the dagger out of his back.
He winced in pain, still looking away from me.

I kicked his face up so he was forced to look at me. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for the past fifteen years, Bellini.”
Even now, he smirked through the blood running from his mouth.
“Questo non cambia nulla, figliolo,” he rasped. “My men will come for you. And the other Dons will tear you apart for this. This is a foolish mistake.”
My boot struck his face again. “Don’t call me son!”
A sharp crack filled the room.
Blood sprayed across the floor as his head snapped to the side.
“All your men are dead or dying as we speak,” I said calmly. “And the powerful people in your circle already turned on you.”
He stared at me with surprised eyes, and I took delight at the sight of fear and something else in them.
My father had a similar look in his eyes before I killed him.
I leaned down slightly. “I’m the Don of Dons now.”
Rocco tried to respond, but I kicked him in the face again.
His head snapped to the side, letting out a low groan of pain.
I held him by the shirt with one hand and dragged him across the floor, his body leaving a trail of blood behind him.
I hauled him up and forced him into the large throne–like chair he loved sitting in so much.
Rocco’s head hung forward as he struggled to stay conscious. “If… you’re the… Don now, I still… win.”
I wiped the bloodied dagger clean with his shirt slowly. “That’s where you’re wrong. I’m destroying your precious empire along with you.”
He raised his eyes to me.
My expression told him I wasn’t bluffing.
He shook his head. “No. Damon… let’s… talk-‘
I grabbed his jaw and forced his mouth open.
“You talk too much,” I said coldly. “I always hated that.”
Then I reached inside his mouth, grabbed his tongue, and pulled it out.
Rocco tried to fight back, but he was too weak. He shook his head and tried to speak, the sound barely leaving his throat as dread filled his eyes.
“This is for threatening to sleep with my wife and to pass her around,” I murmured. “This is for her honor.”
I forced the blade through his tongue without hesitation.
Rocco screamed or tried to, but the sound turned into a wet choke as blood filled his mouth.
My hand returned to his jaw as I forced his mouth open and made him swallow his tongue.

He thrashed in the chair, his hands clawing weakly at my arm.
I stepped back once it slid down his throat and watched him struggle. “Now, you can listen to me without interruptions.”
Behind me, I heard Gabrielle shift against the wall. I glanced over my shoulder briefly to make sure she was okay.
Then my attention returned to Rocco.
He was staring at me with wide, panicked eyes as blood ran down his chin.
I leaned closer to him, holding his gaze. “You couldn’t even fulfill your part of our agreement. And my mother died because of that. I also had to finish off my father with my bare hands.”
His breathing grew faster.
