CHAPTER NINETY ONE
GABRIELLE’S POV
I let out an embarrassing moan.
Damon placed his other hand on the wall beside me.
“See how your body never lies?” Then he leaned even closer, his breath warm in my upper lip. “You’re staying with me because you’re my wife and because I chose you, Gabrielle.”
I lost my voice for a few seconds, unable to tear my gaze away from his.
He pulled back slightly and even though it was weak, I finally found my voice. “You chose a contract.”
“I chose you,” he repeated, slower this time. “The contract was the condition, not the reason I married you.”
My throat burned. “Then why does it feel like I can be replaced?”
“You can’t,” he said flatly.
“Selene-”
“Is not you,” he cut in. “And she never will be.‘
I searched his face for something warmer and something reassuring, but all I found was restraint. Somehow, that scared and excited me more.
“You don’t reassure,” I said quietly. “You don’t fight for things with words enough.”
“I don’t have to,” he replied. “I act. Would you prefer the opposite?”
My breath caught in my throat.
I didn’t, actually.
“You’re not leaving,” he said, his hand squeezing my ass even harder. “You belong with me, Gabrielle. And I’d be damned if I let you go just like that.”
My chest felt tight but I didn’t look away. I felt my core dampen and I clenched around nothing, my hole desperate for friction.
I couldn’t think straight with him this close but I forced myself to. “Why does that sound more like ownership and not choice?”
“It is both,” he replied.
That answer should have terrified me but instead it made my pulse jump in a way I hated myself for.
His free hand moved from the wall and held my other ass cheek, pulling me even closer until I felt his erection on my stomach.
Wait, what was I upset about again?
Fuck!
Think, Gabrielle.
“You can say whatever you want, but my decision is final. You’ll stay with me. And I’ll make sure Beatrice shuts her lousy mouth up henceforth.” His gaze softened then. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here to protect you from her.”
His lip was so close and all I had to do was lean forward slightly and we’d kiss.
The intrusive thought won.
I rose on my toes, pulled him down by his jacket and pressed my lips against his.

That broke his restraint.
He lifted me in his arms and I wrapped my legs around his waist, my hands messing up his hair as they ran through it.
I felt him move and my back hit the bed, his body pressing down on mine. I was drowning in the kiss, all my previous thoughts vanishing through the window.
He broke the kiss briefly to take off his suit jacket and that felt like the longest seconds of my life.
My hands were already outstretched when he came down again, crashing his lips on mine.
God, I was hungry for him just as he was for me.
My shirt was across the room the next minute, my jeans following seconds later. He kissed me like he never had before and I suddenly remembered he had spent the last hour with Selene.
I broke the kiss and pushed against his chest. “No… tell me why you spent the day with Selene.”
“She’s the last person I want to talk about right now,” he responded.
I shook my head, forcing myself to hold back until he told me the truth even though it felt like torture.
“I can’t go on without knowing if you –“I stopped, not wanting to say the words out loud.
His eyes narrowed for a moment before they softened again. “I didn’t fuck her if that’s what you want to ask. I only want to do that with you, Gabrielle. Only you.”
I pulled him down by his shirt and kissed him again, moaning into his mouth. I only wanted to do this with him too.
No one else.
No one else could compare to Damon Gravari, even in his twisted and confusing ways.
My hands roamed his chest through his shirt and by the way his heartbeat raced under my touch, I could tell he was feeling his
emotions.
The kiss felt so… passionate.
He pressed his bulge against my core and I let out another moan into his mouth, my eyes fluttering shut. He grounded slowly against it, driving sparks of pleasure through me.
The sharp ring of his phone made us freeze, but the tension didn’t snap. I undid the button of his shirt, desperate for his warm
skin on mine.
But then, the phone rang again
It took all my self–control to break the kiss. “You know they won’t stop,” I whispered, my voice coming out in a breath.
He nodded, pulling away to answer the call.
I rested on my elbows and watched him talk on the phone, my mouth salivating and my body aching for his.
He glanced at me for a second and I bit my bottom lip, making his eyes darken.
