ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED TO THE BILLIONAIRE SINGLE DAD (Gabrielle and Damon) novel Chapter 98

CHAPTER NINETY EIGHT

GABRIELLE’S POV

It had been eight hours since Damon gave me another mindshattering orgasm.

We ordered room service after taking a bath together. After that, I took a very long and tired nap while he worked on the couch.

I woke up an hour ago and we were now in the limo, on our way back to the villa.

I sighed and leaned into his warmth. Why does it feel like I’m coming back to some sort of opposite reality?

He glanced at me, his hands wrapping around my waist. Probably because you’re seeing your sister in the morning.

My stomach churned.

He was right.

I dreaded meeting Emily again for some reasons but I knew I had to. And I knew the time Damon gave me was running out. Soon, he’d start talking about Jared, and revenge and I wasn’t sure I was ready for that.

Maybe just letting go and healing in peace and quiet would be better than revenge.

The car stopped and the driver knocked on the partition board. We’re home, sir.

I tried to pull away but Damon’s hold on me tightened. I looked up to find him staring down at me.

I flushed, my eyes struggling not to look at his lips and failing. What?

You know sooner or later I’d have to take care of them permanently, right?

Ugh, I hated that he could read me like an open book.

I swallowed, my throat suddenly feeling parched. Yeah, I know.

His eyes narrowed. Don’t forget that.

Then he stepped out of the car and held the door open for me.

Exhaling and pushing the feelings that rose in me down, I stepped out and saw Anya standing on the front porch. Something told me she wasn’t here for pleasantries.

I walked up the pavement without waiting for him.

Welcome back, she said, her gaze flicking to Damon before settling on me. I hope you enjoyed yourbreak.

Why are you here?I asked, raising a brow.

She stepped closer so only I could hear. Don’t go around asking questions you wouldn’t want me to ask you.

Excuse me?

This is my child’s father’s home, she said, her voice on the edge of snapping but still low. I could stay here for the entire year of your little marriage if I wanted to.

My hands fisted by my side. That doesn’t answer my question.

Damon shut the limo door behind me with a soft thud. Is everything okay?

Anya turned to him, a smile curling on her lips as he walked up to us. Gabrielle was just telling me how much fun you both had. Where were you? I’ve been here since yesterday.

Damon walked past her without an answer and I followed, leaving her standing on the porch with her jaw dropped.

Hello? I’m talking to both of you,her voice followed.

Susan and George stepped into the room to welcome us. Damon handed his jacket over to George and Susan pulled me aside to ask what I wanted for dinner.

While we spoke, I caught Anya talking to Damon, her hands flying dramatically in the air. She was no doubt telling him lies about how I pushed Lila down the chair.

Noted,Susan said, giving me a warm smile. Dinner will be ready in an hour.

I nodded at her and joined Damon and Anya. She stopped her narration when I sat next to him on the couch.

What were you guys talking about?I asked with a polite smile even though I desperately wanted to curse her out.

She folded her arms across her chest. About how you plan to murder my daughter in her own father’s house.

I told you I never pushed her down the chair,I said, trying to defend myself. What more do you want?

I want accountability, she answered quickly. I have no intentions of fighting with you but you did push my daughter down. Of course, I’m upset.

Damon’s phone rang out before he could speak. Give me a second,he said and walked away to answer it.

Once we were alone I didn’t hold back.

I stood up and walked closer to her. Listen to me. Whatever fucked up game you’re trying to play here won’t work.

She gave a petty smile. Then why are you trying to stop me? You know Damon would take my side and it’s bothering you so bad.

I felt Damon would believe whatever his daughter told him, not because I thought he’d support Anya over me.

But I didn’t say that.

I wanted to smack her on the face so bad but I held back. I had never resorted to violence my whole life, but ever since Damon came into my life, I understood how easily people crossed that line.

I exhaled to calm myself. If I did hurt your daughter, I’d have apologized by now. You wouldn’t have to ask. Trying to embarrass me in public or lying to Damon won’t make me do so now.

Her smile widened. I knew you didn’t care about Damon, your marriage, or his daughter.
