Madeline had walked straight into her death trap.

She had come out of the blue to discuss the sickness with Elgin.

I had checked her schedule earlier and found out that she was not visiting anyone else.

So the fact that she came here made it seem as if she did not want to stay alive for long.

“She is in the guest room with him,” Silver hissed.

Silver stood with her arms folded over her chest as we watched Hailey and Hannah play in the garden on the swings and the slides.

Silver barely ever let them go out to the park because, according to her, the two girls would start mingling with other kids.

Kids from families with lower ranks were, in her opinion, not a good influence on Hailey and Hannah.

So she tried her best to keep a distance between the other children and the girls.

I stood with my hands tied behind my back as I listened carefully to Silver's instructions.

Over the past few weeks, she had been reminding me that we needed to kill Madeline, that we had to get rid of her.

"What is the order for me?" I asked her blankly.

I already knew what was going on.

She wanted me to do something about Madeline.

"When she leaves today, you will follow her car," Silver began.

Then she pulled something wrapped in a purple cloth and handed it to me in a secretive way.

I held it, and the moment I tried to open it, she grunted and slapped the back of my head.

"What are you doing? Why do you think it is wrapped so carefully?" she hissed, glancing around.

Other warriors were nearby, doing their duties.

If any of them saw the dagger, they would start asking questions.

But I had already seen that it was a dagger, so I quickly wrapped it back up and hid it inside my jacket.

"What is it for?" I asked.

She gave me a look of disbelief.

"To chop vegetables with it," she taunted, letting out an exhausted scoff.

"You will follow her and use this dagger to end her."

She gave the instruction in such a careless and cold way that the hair on the back of my neck stood up.

"You want me to kill her in cold blood?" I asked and she shrugged.

One arm folded over her chest while the other bent at the elbow, her hand resting against it as her fingers rubbed together near her mouth.

"It wouldn't be murder if you kill Madeline. She has been a pain in the ass for everyone," Silver commented casually.

Then she made Elgin hate Madeline and reject her in the most brutal way.

And in the end, Silver still cried at night as if she were the ultimate victim.

But of course, I served her in many ways, so I had to obey her commands.

Silver turned to me, and this time I could tell she was about to become more serious and explain in detail what we were supposed to do.

"Mathew, kill the driver today and make sure it looks like Madeline has died too."

Her words made my body stiffen because I knew something far more dangerous and insane was brewing in her mind.

Then she paused, a smirk appearing on her lips.

"You will keep her tied somewhere, make her cry, and fill as many bottles with her tears as you can."

As she explained the plan to me, I began to wonder, what the fuck had I gotten myself into?

But I had to obey her commands.

"Tell me if you will be able to do it," she asked dramatically.

I drew in a sharp breath and nodded.

"I can," I replied.

Her smile widened.
