Accidentally Pregnant By My Alpha Best friends (Madeline) novel Chapter 682

Madeline:

"See, I don't think I understand you," I said to her.

As we sat in the living room, I had checked on Byron, and just as Ron had said, his condition was worsening with every passing hour.

"I don't know how, but she can heal wounds and poisons with her saliva," Nala said, causing me to scrunch my eyebrows.

"Wait, so you're telling me there was someone who could help people, and she didn't come forward to help the children?" I asked, already questioning this woman's credibility.

"Not exactly. I mean, she can't heal children. It's kind of like how you can heal children, but she can heal adults. I'm not really sure. I've never been this confused before, but now that I'm saying it out loud, I realize how strange it sounds," she replied and I turned to look at Ron.

"Who is this person?" he asked.

"Oh, you've probably heard of her," Nala replied. "She's quite well known in Alpha circles."

She shifted in her seat.

"I found her recently when one of my soldiers was wounded, and she helped him."

Nala looked as though she was holding back more information.

"Nala, be honest," I said.

She immediately hunched her shoulders.

"Well, rogues aren't supposed to be friends with someone of her status, but I became friends with her. She knew her secret would be safe with me. She trusts me, and I trust her. She's a very nice woman."

She continued gushing about the woman instead of getting to the point.

"Her name is Rosetta. She's the widow of several Alphas. People call her the Black Widow. But I'm certain she can cure Byron."

As she spoke, she pointed toward Byron's room again.

"Wait, I know her," Ron said. "She never leaves her mansion or her pack. And every Alpha she marries somehow ends up dead. Then their packs merge with hers."

He rubbed the back of his neck.

"The council gave her an extension. After a certain period, she's supposed to find another Alpha, or they'll take everything away from her. They usually give her six months. Then, somehow, she finds an Alpha. He dies unexpectedly, and she gets another six months. It just keeps happening."

"Doesn't that sound suspicious to either of you?" I asked, staring at them in disbelief.

They were recommending her while also admitting that every time she was about to lose her pack, she married an Alpha who conveniently died soon afterward.

"Trust me, she's a good person," Nala insisted. "All I'm saying is that whatever is on Byron's back is poison. Those scratches are killing him. He needs help immediately, and there isn't anyone else who can help him."

She reached for my hands and held them tightly.

"So let's take this chance. Please trust me."

Nala looked at me pleadingly.

Honestly, I wanted to help Byron more than anyone.

I couldn't lose another person.

But I also couldn't place him in the hands of a complete stranger.

"Fine," I finally gave in.

Before Nala could get up, thinking I had agreed to let Byron go alone, I added,

"I'll come with you. I want to meet her myself."

I spoke with determination.

Before Nala could come up with an excuse about why I shouldn't be anywhere near Rosetta's territory, how it would raise suspicions and get her into trouble, I pointed at her.

"I'm not handing my friend over to someone I don't know. Let me speak to her myself. Please, Nala."
