Sawyer:
Continuation Of Flashback:
As I walked over to the window, I knew I wouldn't be able to write even if I tried.
I was too fucked up, both mentally and from the alcohol.
"What do you want me to write to her?" she asked.
I turned to her and looked her straight in the eye.
"Tell her she needs to come back home tomorrow. No more excuses."
As I said those words, I looked at Nina and realized there was nothing she could do to make me leave Madeline.
If anything, I would keep Madeline by my side.
I watched Nina hunched over the computer as she opened my emails.
Her face was to me, but then I saw her eyes widen.
A gasp escaped her lips.
"What is it?" I asked.
She looked up at me before shaking her head.
"Nothing, Your Highness. Nothing. I'm just trying to type the email," she replied.
Then she looked back down and resumed typing.
Finally, she stepped away from the computer.
"It's all done," she said.
I noticed everything beginning to blur.
I didn't know what was happening, but I couldn't see anything clearly.
"What the fuck is going on?" I demanded.
"I'm so sorry, Sir, but I had to do it," she muttered, making me grab the window frame for support as the glass slipped from my hand.
"Did you fucking put something in my drink?" I hissed, struggling to stay on my feet.
"You left me no choice. You fed me lies, so I had to feed you something."
As soon as she said that, I tried to lunge at her, but my knees buckled, and I collapsed onto the floor.
"Please don't hurt yourself," she pleaded.
Then I heard the door open and her father walk inside.
I looked up and watched him stare at her.
"Did you give him the drugs?" he asked.
My heart lurched inside my chest.
It was then that I realized they had drugged me.
With what?
I had no idea.
I thought I could trust the old man, but of course I fucked up because, in the end, he was always going to choose his daughter.
"You know, Father, I received an email," Nina said to him.
She was speaking to her father as if I couldn't hear them, even though I could hear every word perfectly.
Her father tried to get closer to me, but every time he did, I swung my arms with all my strength.
I tried to crawl toward the phone, but they snatched it away every time.
I couldn't even get my voice out to call for help.
Then I realized this had been inevitable.
When you are married and choose to bring a third person into your life, you are risking not only your own security and privacy but your wife's as well.
