Baxter:
A Few Days Ago:
"So, you guys have two deadly monsters wandering around the human world now?" I asked Daniel after watching the video.
Seeing a lycan somehow stirred something inside me.
It was as if my wolf was far more excited to have someone powerful as a rival.
"Well, for you, a simple wolfsbane shot can suppress your wolf," Daniel replied, adjusting the glasses on the bridge of his nose.
"But a lycan has to be careful."
I tapped a finger against my chin, thinking it over.
"Hmm. What if he isn't careful?" I asked, clicking my tongue as I nodded to myself.
Daniel frowned in bewilderment.
"What do you mean?" he questioned.
I began pacing around the room, running a hand through my hair as an idea formed in my head.
"Think about it. If humans find out there's a monster among them, they'll want him gone."
I turned to face Daniel.
"They'd never want a monster to be their president, right?"
Daniel fell silent, giving it some thought.
A few moments later, he nodded confidently.
"But lycans have far more control over themselves than werewolves," he said with a sigh, looking around the basement.
"Then we need something to trigger it when he's among people," I added, realizing the video could be debunked.
People would simply claim we had edited it or manipulated it in some way.
I needed to find a way for him to reveal his lycan side in front of others, so they would realise just how dangerous and terrifying he was.
Then, when we showed the video, it would serve as confirmation that he had taken one of their people to the attic, and God only knew what he had done to him.
"Daniel, what do you know about your researcher, Madeline?" I asked, looking down as though I were only going through the files.
Basically, just the files of the patients they kept there.
“I haven't met her personally. I only know that she received a lot of awards. She was a woman of exceptional calibre, very decent and well put together. As far as I know, everything was going well while she was in the human world."
Daniel did nothing but praise her, which completely contradicted what my wolf had told me.
Or maybe this was simply how she had lived here.
"When did she arrive here, if you have any information?" I questioned, my eyes narrowing at him.
‘So you don't believe me? You're going to ask someone else?’ my wolf howled inside me.
“So—,” I watched Daniel speak, but suddenly my head began to ache.
My wolf was trying to take control of my body, and the first thing he took over was my hearing.
