"I'm going to give him the trigger instead of the medicine. He'll never find out," Livia whispered as we began getting dressed.

I turned my face away so I wouldn't see anything she didn't want me to see.

I was respecting her boundaries.

"That would be a really good idea," I murmured.

"You know—" She suddenly laughed.

I looked at her once she was fully dressed.

I was dressed too, just pulling my shirt on.

"You're such a baby," she teased, making my smile slowly fade.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, you wouldn't even look at me. I mean, a real man would definitely want to sneak a glimpse. But you're so sweet. You're so adorable."

I didn't know. It was the way she said it.

It didn't feel like a compliment.

"I mean, I respect your privacy," I replied.

She added that before walking over to the bed and pulling out a piece of paper to write on.
