"The monster brought her first, then everyone else," Livia explained while I continued hugging Gina.

I'm sure Elara was confused at some point about why I wasn't paying any attention to her.

Thankfully, Baxter was with her.

I was back in a place where I didn't have to do everything on my own anymore.

I looked up from hugging Gina for a brief moment and watched Baxter playing with Elara.

As I sat on the couch, I felt like an outsider among them.

She always spoke passionately whenever the monster came up.

Once, Daniel said the monster was simply too dangerous because he might start killing people.

Livia immediately shut him down.

I scooted to the side when I felt like someone else was nearby.

"Who's in there?" I asked, pointing at the door.

Livia exchanged a glance with Daniel.

"It's Nina," Baxter replied, making my eyes widen in shock.

"Wait, why is she in the mansion? I mean, what's she still doing here? Her husband is gone. Shouldn't she be gone too?"

I didn't know what came over me, but just the thought of her being there irritated me.

Not because I was jealous, but because I'd found out she had tricked Sawyer and put him in a coma.

That was why I couldn't get any help and ended up agreeing to marry Graham and then Elgin.

I was angry.

Even though I didn't care about Sawyer, Nina was an opportunist, and I wasn't happy having her around.
