Chapter 5
“WAKE UP!”
“What are you playing at? You threw your own son in that cesspool. What do you have to cry about?”
I slapped her a few more times. She had no choice but to wake up.
She didn’t dare look at the body in the yard.
Instead, she choose to screamed at me:
*
“You bitch! You swapped your son out! You did this on purpose to kill mine!”
I sneered. “Did I tell your daughter to throw him off the balcony?”
“Your daughter’s a monster, and you’re the trash who raised her!”
By now, the neighbors had pieced it all together.
They turned on Jenna. Pointing. Whispering:
“Like mother, like daughter!”
“Her own daughter killed her own son. No court in the world can sort that out!”
David hissed at me:
Are you trying to make this worse? Get them out of here! If something happens to Jenna, I’m fucking done with you!”
But I shouted louder:
“Oh yeah? What are you gonna do? Her actual husband hasn’t said a word, so why are you playing hero?”
The neighbors exchanged knowing looks.
David’s face instantly went red.
Sienna, surrounded by stares, panicked. She tried to crawl into her mother’s arms.
“Mom, I’m scared! I didn’t know it was Ashton!”
Jenna shoved her away hard.
Her eyes were ice cold:
“Are your eyes un
your ass? Your brother’s dead! You might as well be dead too!!”
Chapter 5
Sienna hit the ground. Crying.
“But Mom, didn’t you say if that brat Cody was gone, everything in the family would be mine and Ashton’s?”
Jenna’s face went white. Monica rushed over to cover her mouth.
“Stop talking nonsense!!”
Chaos erupted.
Then the medical examiner arrived.
After checking the body, the examiner said grimly:
“Lungs are full of waste. The baby was still alive when he fell. If you’d gotten him to a hospital sooner, he might’ve made it.”
Jenna’s eyes went wide: “What… what did you say?”
The examiner repeated it. “I’m saying the actual cause of death was drowning in the septic tank.”
Jenna let out a guttural, broken scream.
“No. NO!!!”
“It wasn’t me. It wasn’t…”
Well, whether it was her or not-that was for the cops to figure out.
The neighbors got their show.
Within half an hour, videos were all over the internet.
David’s family went viral.
People online were calling it karma. Justice served.
But David had no clue.
He came to me. Asked me to lie for him.
What he didn’t know? I’d already gone live.
He said it like it was obvious:
“When they ask, just say you threw the baby in the septic tank. Otherwise, Jenna’s going to prison.”
“You don’t want her to lose her son and go to jail, do you?”
The livestream exploded.

Chapter 5
[What kind of man asks his wife to take the fall? Someone check if he and his sister in law are a little TOO close.J
[Wait, didn’t SHE kill her own kid? This man is shameless!]
I almost laughed.
“Her son was a person. Mine wasn’t? If I go to prison, what happens to Cody?”
David looked still dead serious:
“We’ll have your parents adopt him out to my brother. He’ll still be the part of our family.”
“Besides, you won’t be in there for more than two years. I’ll write you a character reference.”
I’d had enough. I grabbed the glass off the table. Threw the water right in his face.
“Who the hell do you think you are, telling me to go to prison? Why don’t you go?!”
He wiped his face. Fuming:
“Tessa, can you think about this family for once? If I go in, who’s gonna work? Who’s gonna pay the bills? Why are you always so selfish?”
“Jenna was right. I never should’ve married someone like you!”
“Then let’s get divorced.”
He froze. “Wh.. what?”
