Aria nodded and looked at Mr. Reid. “Looks like you don't need to file your little report anymore. Gideon must know by now.”

A stretch Lincoln was parked outside the station.
As soon as Aria approached, the door opened automatically.
The old master was sitting inside, perfectly composed. “Get in.”
Aria obediently got in.
“Grandfather, are you feeling better?”
“Much better.” Aldous Evernight offered his arm. “Things were too sudden that day. Check my vitals again for me today.”
He didn't mention Aria's situation, but instead wanted to see her skills again.
Aria was in a difficult position. “Grandfather, I only know a little bit about basic physical assessment.”
“Is that so?”
The old man was testing her.
Aria knew that if it hadn't been for the emergency that day, she never would have revealed her knowledge of specialized holistic therapy to the Evernight family.
The Evernights were already looking for “Dawn.” It was dangerous for her to reveal her talents now.
Aria nodded. “My mother wasn't in good health, so I studied some holistic medicine for two years. After I moved out of the Rowan family's home, I got rusty.”
She wasn't exactly lying. Aria had initially become interested in holistic medicine to help manage Roxanne's health.
She had also studied acupuncture while with the Rowan family, though she had never practiced on Roxanne.
Aldous Evernight withdrew his hand. It was unclear whether he believed her or not, and he didn't bring it up again.
Aria didn't want to guess what the old man was thinking.
“I already know about the Keene Group matter. Gideon went too far this time,” Aldous Evernight said lightly. “But you two are married; there's no sense in holding grudges. I will handle the Keene Group.”
Aria lowered her eyes. “I understand.”
Aldous Evernight nodded.
“And that girl from the Rowan family…”
As they were talking, the car suddenly screeched to a halt.
