And Roxanne... she had raised Aria for so many years. Could she hate Aria so much just because she suddenly found out Aria was Nathan's illegitimate daughter?
"Flora, leave the truth to the police. They won't frame an innocent person. Can you just wait patiently for the results?"
The implication was clear: stop targeting Aria.
Flora lowered her head, her fingers clenched tightly.
She had watched Aria enter the research institute with her own eyes but never imagined she would come out with saline solution!
The accusation of poisoning was now useless, and the air injection charge didn't seem to be sticking to Aria either.
Did Lilith really die for nothing?
"Charles, I just think Aria is genuinely suspicious. I'm not targeting her..."
"Besides, don't you find it strange? I begged Aria for the medicine at her seminar, and she refused. But Lilith sends a few messages, and she personally delivers it—only it's a placebo..."
Aria sneered. "It's a good thing I brought saline. If I had brought the actual experimental drug, I'd probably have been arrested for death by poisoning by now, wouldn't I?"
Flora was at a loss for words.
Roxanne shot to her feet.
"Aria, you were the one who developed that drug in the first place! Later, when Lilith used your antidote, she started vomiting blood. Are you saying you didn't tamper with it in some way?"
"And the doctor said Lilith needed to rest quietly! Who knows what you might have said to agitate her?!"
No matter what an elder was like, one should never speak to them with such an attitude. Aria was simply too unruly.
His phone rang. Bradley glanced at the caller ID, his expression softening slightly as he stepped outside to take the call.
"Bradley, did you see our sister? Does she look like Mom...?"
Listening to the somewhat disappointed yet curious voice on the other end, Bradley couldn't help but turn and look again at Aria in her wheelchair.
"She looks a lot like Mom, but her personality and upbringing are nothing like yours. With a personality like that, she's not fit to return to the Holt family. I heard she used dishonorable means to get married, too... Anyway, don't tell Dad anything about her for now. I'm worried he'll be incredibly disappointed if he meets her."
The girl on the other end obediently agreed, then asked cautiously, "Then... you'll always be my big brother, right?"
Bradley chuckled. "Since when did my little princess become so insecure? From the day we adopted you, I've always treated you as my real sister."
