Raphael's smile deepened. He offered Aria a breakfast he had prepared. "You came in so early, you probably haven't eaten yet, have you?"
It was a simple meal, just some oatmeal.
"I've already eaten."
"Dr. Reaves won't be here for a little while. Have some more."
Aria glanced at the time and felt it would be rude to refuse again. She sat down opposite Raphael and took small sips of the oatmeal.
The warm meal soothed her stomach, and some color returned to her face.
Raphael took the opportunity to study Aria for a few moments.
The woman was thin and frail, sipping her food in small, delicate bites, which made her seem incredibly cute and well-behaved. Perhaps it was because of those captivating, doe-like eyes.
Raphael pushed the side dishes closer to Aria. "Eat more."

After meeting with Alden Reaves, Raphael also presented him with the contract.
Of course, Alden Reaves wouldn't refuse a chance to collaborate with the government.
The two began discussing research locations. Aria didn't participate further and instead went to Hazel's research team.
When she got there, Charles and Hazel were already in the lab.
Flora was sitting outside.
"Aria, you're late on your first day?"
Aria glanced at the empty workstations in the lab. "Your research team only has two people?"
Hazel was at a loss for words, then quickly changed the subject. "You can just be in charge of cleaning! You've been out of research for so many years, you probably don't know how to use any of the equipment anyway."
Aria had indeed been away from the institute for a long time, but Gideon's Evercrest Prosperity Holdings was also in the medical industry. As his executive secretary, it was impossible for her not to have contact with it.
But since Hazel had already decided Aria was incompetent, it would be easier for Aria to find evidence.
Charles had joined the project midway and wasn't familiar with a lot of the experimental data.
Hazel leaned close to Charles, explaining her research direction in a low voice.
