After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 60

Charles quickly pulled Flora into his arms, comforting her gently.

"Aria, why did you get so close? There's no work for you to do here!"

Hazel seethed with jealousy watching Charles be so tender with Flora.

"Now you've scared Ms. Keene. Aren't you going to apologize?"

"She pushed me, and you want me to apologize?"

It took Aria a moment for the sharp pain in her back to subside.

She didn't need to look to know it would be bruised.

"If you hadn't been bullying Flora, she wouldn't have reacted so strongly."

Charles had only found out yesterday, after asking Flora, that Aria had bullied people in high school.

Flora had even shown him a video.

He still felt a pang of heartache remembering her sobbing pitifully in his arms.

"Me? Bully her?"

"Isn't that what school bullying is? Looking at Ms. Keene now, who would have thought she was bullied so badly in the past?"

"Aria looks so fragile. How could she be a bully?"

"And here I was just feeling sorry for Aria!"

"..."

At the mention of bullying, the people who had just been concerned about Aria quickly moved away from her.

Aria laughed in disbelief. She took out her phone and pulled up a video of Flora bullying her. "Let's see who was really bullying who, shall we?"

Back then, Flora had blocked her way home, dragged her into an alley, pulled her hair, and forced her to crawl like a dog, even recording a video to humiliate her.

"But the voice really sounds like her…"

"Flora, are you going to deny that's you in the video?" Aria sneered. "I still have the phone number that sent me the video. It should be pretty easy to find out who it belongs to, right?"

Especially for someone like Flora, who had so many friends. She must have used that number to contact others.

Even if she had disconnected it and changed numbers, there would be other clues to trace it.

"Charles, Aria's right. I did bully her. Can we just let this go? I'll apologize to Aria…"

Flora cried from within Charles's arms, her body trembling uncontrollably.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry… Please don't hit me, sob…"

"Flora, Flora! I don't disbelieve you!" Charles held Flora tightly, his gaze fixed coldly on Aria. "Flora is pure. But you? You’re the predator who drugged her way into a billionaire’s bed and forced a wedding."

"I'm not asking you to believe me," Aria cut him off. "I'm just proving my innocence. Your trust doesn't matter to me anymore."
