After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 76

“Is that so?”

Gideon tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, his attitude noncommittal.

He had made a huge mistake by not listening to Aria last time. If he stubbornly refused to believe her again, he was worried Lilith would be harmed.

“Why are you saying Hazel’s drug is no good? According to my investigation, the neurological drug she developed doesn’t have any serious complications.”

At most, just some issues with fever.

Easily manageable.

But why was Aria saying it was no good?

Aria couldn’t just claim she developed the drug without evidence, so she must know what the problems were.

“I’ve said my piece. It’s best not to use it.”

“I know Aria has always had a problem with me, but… Hazel’s drug is my only hope. If I stop now, the pain will be unbearable every single day…”

“Lilith, you’re not going to die. Don’t talk like that.”

Gideon’s tone hardened. He looked at Aria, then braked and opened the door. “As for you, get out.”

Aria and Gideon locked eyes.

“Lilith takes that medicine every day. If something really goes wrong… Aria, you’re truly vicious. Hiding behind Dr. Dawn and making such baseless claims! Get out!”

You can’t help those who won’t help themselves.

That was the second lesson Aria had learned as a doctor.

She didn’t press the issue, simply getting out of the car without another word.

The autumn night air was chilly, and as soon as Aria stepped out, she felt a sharp cold.

Her body shivered slightly.

Gideon looked at the red mark on Aria’s face and waited a few seconds.

If Aria would just soften her tone and apologize, he wouldn’t do something like abandoning her on the side of the road at night.

But Aria just rubbed her arms, lifted her head, and started walking forward, opening a ride-share app on her phone as she went.
