"You're really willing to let me tag along?"
"I don't have time."
"But you said if I didn't get something, I could just ask you."
Ethan didn't say anything.
"Ethan, investing in short drama series isn't a long-term thing. If I want to keep making money, I need to switch it up. Can I learn about investments from you?"
"Any projects at your company that are actually profitable? Let me buy in. I swear, I'm not greedy."
In all of Cabinda, nobody knew how to invest or run a business better than Ethan. Even Douglas White, his biggest rival, couldn't compete.
The White family was the city’s second biggest powerhouse, right after the Adams family. They used to be number one until the Adams family took the top spot and stayed there, leaving the Whites stuck in second place.
Now, with the new generation in charge, Ethan and Douglas were locked in this constant, not-so-secret competition.
Honestly, their companies only overlapped in a couple of areas. Their main sources of income were completely different. What they really cared about was who got to be the city’s richest family.
If Isabella could learn to invest with Ethan, she could just sit back and watch her bank account grow.
"You don't have any capital."
That one line from Ethan shut her up.
He was right. She didn’t have any money. Even the startup cash for her business had been his handout.
He’d told her before, the projects his company invested in all started in the hundreds of millions. Did she have that kind of money? Not even close. No way she could just bluff her way in.
"They say I give you too much, and that's why you’re trying to start businesses instead of just staying home and being a good wife."
"And… giving me a couple of sons."
Those were actually Jennifer’s words, but Ethan didn’t say that. He didn’t want to make things worse between his mom and his wife.
Instantly, Isabella let go of his arm like it had burned her.
She moved so fast, it actually pissed Ethan off. His face darkened as he said, his voice low, "Hold onto my arm."
Isabella hesitated. "I'm just worried you really want me to give you two sons. Ethan, we’re just married on paper. I’m your chess piece. I always remember that."
"So maybe I shouldn’t touch you at all. What if we really did end up with two sons by accident?"

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
