“What, you think I can’t take care of two sons? Why are you worrying about that? If you can have them, I can raise them…”
Ethan fell silent, suddenly realizing how ridiculous he sounded. He turned to look out the window, hoping that would help him escape the awkwardness swirling between them.
Isabella didn’t let go of his arm. She held him even tighter. She knew perfectly well there was no real future for them. It was probably smarter to keep some distance, not get too close. Unless, of course, he was actually willing to sleep with her.
She glanced at him. He was so good-looking, his body just... perfect. She imagined peeling off his shirt and having her way with him right there in the car.
Panic hit her and she quickly turned her eyes back to the window. If she kept staring, she might really lose control and jump him right here. She was a woman, after all, with all the normal needs and desires.
Money, focus on money. Isabella reminded herself over and over that she was here to make money, to get it out of Ethan’s wallet. That was the only thing that mattered.
After a few minutes of fighting her impulses, Isabella finally calmed down and spoke up. “I’m just trying to turn money into more money. You said it yourself. No matter what I do, you’d support me a hundred percent.”
She looked at him seriously. “See, when I’m busy, I don’t have time to go after Natalie. Honestly, I hate her, but I blame you even more.” Her voice dropped lower. “I wish she was dead. Sometimes I just want to tear her to pieces.”
Ethan’s hand shot out, grabbing her chin with so much force it hurt. Isabella winced, afraid he might actually break her jaw.
“Isabella, just try touching Natalie and see what happens,” he growled. “This is your warning. If you so much as lay a finger on her, I’ll make sure you regret it.”
Tonight’s event was at The Cabinda Hotel, the city’s biggest and most upscale place. The Adams Group owned thirty percent, but the real power belonged to the James Family, who held the majority share.
Because of the gala, the hotel was closed to the public for the night. All guests had to check out by noon. The grand lobby was elegant and spacious, with other rooms available for events. There was more than enough space for a mid-sized corporate party, so no one would feel crowded.
When Ethan’s usual Maybach pulled up to the entrance, the security guard recognized the car right away and hurried over to open the door for him.
“Mr. Adams.” The guard greeted him politely.
The host of tonight’s gala, an industry veteran in his sixties, also came out to welcome them. Even with his age and status, he treated Ethan with obvious respect and never tried to act superior.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
