Ethan noticed the way Natalie’s brows drew together. After thinking it over, he said, “Natalie, you should really go talk to Jordan. What’s done is done, and now you both have to deal with it.”
“This isn’t the moment to pick a fight with Jackson. No matter how angry you are, you need to hold back. If you make a scene, he’ll only end up more disappointed in Jordan. And don’t count on Jackson feeling bad about any of this. If he could do something like that, he was never thinking about who he'd hurt.”
Natalie hesitated, then nodded. “I know. I’ll try to talk to Jordan, but honestly, I don’t think he’ll listen. The fight between him and his dad is pretty bad.”
She let out a long sigh. She’d been blind to what was really going on. Jackson and Cynthia had been married for twenty years, and to everyone else, they seemed happy.
No one would have guessed that Jackson’s illegitimate son was already ten.
Jordan had looked into that woman and her kid, even though Jackson had tried to stop him. Deborah had just turned thirty-six yesterday. Her son, Kevin Lane, was ten and already in fourth grade at the city’s top private school. In September, he’d be starting fifth grade.
What stung most was that Jackson had spent last night with Deborah, celebrating her birthday.
Deborah was only six years older than Jordan. If Jackson and Cynthia split and Jackson married Deborah, even Natalie wouldn’t be able to get along with her. That’s why Natalie was desperate for Cynthia not to divorce.
Ethan sighed too. He knew Jordan wouldn’t let this go. Cynthia could leave Jackson and start over, but Jordan would have to live with this mess forever.
“Ethan, one more thing,” Natalie said. “Could you help us look into Deborah? Maybe talk to Jackson too?”
“The Adams Group and The Lane Group work closely together. If you put some pressure on Jackson, he won’t be so bold.”
Suddenly, the office phone rang.
Ethan got up to answer it. After a quick call, he turned back to Natalie. “I’ve got an important meeting coming up.”
Natalie stood, getting the hint. “You’re busy, Ethan. I’ll head out.”
He walked her to the door. “Drive safe, and try not to worry. Jordan’s been with The Lane Group for years, and he’s an adult. As long as he keeps it together, Jackson won’t cut him off.”
Natalie just nodded and left, saying nothing more.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
