Laura had watched the short drama adapted from her novel and honestly, she thought it was kind of rough. If it hadn’t been her own story, she probably wouldn’t have even made it through the first episode. Compared to real TV shows, it just didn’t measure up.
She looked skeptical. “Can those cheap, low-budget little series really make it big? The production value is so bad, it’s almost embarrassing. None of the actors are even professionals. Their acting is painful to watch.”
“It’s nothing like online novels,” Laura went on. “In our field, if a web novel goes viral and gets some traction, that’s where the real money is. You’d be better off starting a website, hiring a few editors, and signing up some writers. Then you could work with other sites. That actually has a future.”
Isabella shook her head. “Novels are already on the decline. Over the next few years, short dramas are where the money is. The trick is to get in early and catch the wave. Anyone who joins late will probably end up losing money.”
She knew from experience. In her last life, short dramas exploded over the next two years. After that, the market was so crowded it was almost impossible to make a profit. Meanwhile, the novel industry kept going downhill. There wasn’t even one breakout hit a year anymore. So many new and old authors kept launching books, only to see them flop.
Laura compared the situation to a few years ago and had to admit things were pretty bleak for writers.
“So, if you want to invest in making short dramas, how would you even start?” she asked. “You’d need a team. You’d need a director, screenwriters for scripts, and actors too.”
Isabella wasn’t worried. If it didn’t work out, she could just go back to the Adams family and live quietly. Ethan needed her to keep his ties to the Lane family, so he wouldn’t divorce her anytime soon. She wasn’t in love with Ethan anymore, and honestly, life was pretty comfortable. At least she never had to worry about money.
“Are you free right now?” Isabella asked, her eyes bright. “If you are, let’s go check out the entertainment company. We can pick out some new actors and then set up our own studio. Adams Entertainment must have professional screenwriters too. We can get them to help us. If we’re willing to spend the money, and the production quality is as good as real TV, there’s no way it won’t be a hit.”
Isabella was completely confident. This year and the first half of next year were the best time to make money with short dramas. After that, competition would get fierce. If things got too crowded, she could just switch to something else. Ethan was so good at business. If she just followed his investments, she was sure she’d make money too.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
