The Adams Estate.
In the main hall of the big house, Jennifer put on her best smile and turned to Stephanie. “Mom, why did you call everyone back? Is something going on?”
As the lady of the house, she had absolutely no idea what was happening. She didn’t even know what Stephanie wanted to announce. Was it possible Stephanie was finally going to split up her fortune and give everyone a share? Surely, they would get something. Stephanie’s wealth was no secret. She had a jewelry vault that everyone in the family envied. Sure, Jennifer had her own collection, but nothing compared to the treasures Stephanie owned. Most of Stephanie’s pieces were antiques passed down from generations of her old-money family. Each one was rare and priceless.
Stephanie, now eighty, still looked elegant and kind. She could easily pass for someone in her sixties. She glanced at Jennifer, then looked around at everyone else in the room. The grandsons had started to arrive, and soon the hall was packed with family.
“It wasn’t my idea to call you all back,” Stephanie finally said, her voice steady and strong. “Ethan asked me to do it. He’s bringing Isabella home for dinner tonight. He says he has something he needs to make clear to everyone. Apparently, he feels he owes Isabella an apology.”
“I have no idea what he could have possibly done,” she added.
Everyone in the room looked at each other, confused. Jennifer felt a chill run down her spine. Did Isabella already tell Ethan what happened today?
“Mom, why is he bringing her back here?” Jennifer blurted out. “I told him before, if he insisted on marrying Isabella, fine, but I would never accept her into this house. She’s not the daughter-in-law we wanted.”
“When Isabella walks in, you’ll greet her respectfully.”
Among Ethan’s siblings, only Sophia was openly cold to Isabella. The others were at least polite. The real problem was with the elders. They all thought Isabella wasn’t good enough for Ethan. No one could figure out what she did to make him go against the whole family just to marry her.
Seven of the grandsons were there. The youngest boys were still at boarding school and couldn’t come home. Stephanie hadn’t bothered to call them. They were too young to worry about family drama anyway. Of the two granddaughters, Sophia and Ava, Ava was still a kid and was upstairs finishing her homework. Stephanie told her she could come down if she wanted, or just stay where she was.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
