“Grandma.” Ethan called out again, gently tightening his hold on Isabella’s hand as a reminder for her to greet Stephanie.
Stephanie’s face lit up with a warm, welcoming smile. “You’re back.”
“Isabella, come sit with me.” She patted the seat beside her, her voice full of real affection. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you. Have you lost weight? And those dark circles… are you staying up too late?”
She motioned for Isabella to join her.
Isabella echoed Ethan’s greeting, “Grandma.” She nodded politely to the others before walking over to Stephanie’s side.
Jennifer and Sophia had been sitting next to Stephanie. As Isabella approached, Sophia scooted over with clear reluctance, shooting Isabella a cold glare as she moved.
Isabella acted like she didn’t even notice.
In her last life, she barely had any contact with Stephanie. The old woman rarely left the estate, and since Isabella was never really accepted by her in-laws, she hardly ever got the chance to visit. Stephanie was the true authority in the Adams family. Even Jennifer had to show her respect and keep her head down in front of her.
“Ethan, are you not feeding Isabella? Look at her, she’s so thin,” Stephanie said, half joking, half serious.
Ethan let out a helpless sigh. “Grandma, it’s not me. Isabella works too hard, that’s why she’s lost weight. She stays up late and ends up with those dark circles. I’ve told her a million times she doesn’t have to push herself so much. It’s not like our family needs her to make money.”
Jennifer kept her smile steady and replied, “Eight hundred thousand a month.”
“Ethan, you’re being stingy. You’ve been shorting Isabella five hundred thousand a month. Pay her back right now.”
“Actually, the eight hundred thousand should be sent to Isabella’s account every month, on time, from your mother. As her husband, your job is to make your wife happy. You need to give her a separate allowance, too.”
“And if Isabella wants to buy anything expensive, you’ll cover it. No questions asked.”
Everyone else in the room looked even more strained, but no one dared to talk back to Stephanie. Even Jennifer, who ran the household, stayed quiet. Besides, Stephanie was right. According to the Adams family rules, Isabella was supposed to get eight hundred thousand a month from Jennifer.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
