After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 452

“Don’t make Ethan angry because of her,” Adelina said quietly. “It’s just not worth it.”

She had watched Jordan and Ethan grow up side by side, and for years, she’d known one of them would eventually become Natalie’s husband. Deep down, she’d always leaned toward Ethan. His feelings for Natalie seemed more genuine, and his family background was stronger than Jordan’s.

But Natalie had insisted she loved Jordan. Their families were equal in status, so Adelina agreed to the marriage. After so many years together, Natalie finally got pregnant, only to lose the baby because of health issues. Then, out of nowhere, Jackson’s affair came to light, and he even had a ten-year-old son from it.

The Lane family’s peace fell apart overnight. They’d tried talking things through with Jackson, but love and relationships were complicated, and the conversations only made things worse.

Now there was tension between Jordan, Natalie, and Ethan. They weren’t completely estranged, but the situation with the wedding gift left a mark that wouldn’t go away.

Adelina let out a long sigh. If only Natalie had chosen Ethan, none of this would have happened. She’d always expected the Lane family would belong to Jordan, with Natalie stepping in as the lady of the house soon after the wedding. Now, with the appearance of an illegitimate child, Adelina could already picture the chaos that was coming.

But this was the path Natalie chose, and she had to keep going.

“I know, Mom. Jordan and I are heading back now,” Natalie said.

“Alright, drive safe. And about the rest of that wedding gift, you two have three days to put it together and give it back to Isabella. You need to get along with her from now on. She’s family, no matter what. Be nicer to Cynthia, too, and try to bring her to your side. Don’t let Deborah take advantage of the situation.”

Adelina walked them to the door, fussing over them until the very last second. Natalie just kept nodding.
