“He really cares about you. He’s tried to help your family’s business without ever bragging about it or asking for anything in return. He’s always doing these little things for you, quietly, just because he wants you to have a better life.”

“If he didn’t mean it, he wouldn’t bother. And he treats you with real respect, not like Ethan. Ethan always saw me as just a piece on his chessboard, nothing more. Jesse’s not like that at all.”
