Isabella closed her eyes and whispered, “It will happen. We’ve been working so hard, filming project after project. One day, one of our shows is going to blow up for sure.”
Laura told her to stop talking and get some sleep.
Isabella fell silent. She wanted to drift off, but her body ached too much. Sleep just wouldn’t come. So she settled for lying there with her eyes shut, trying to rest.

After leaving the hospital, Douglas told his driver to take him to a hotel to meet a client. He’d squeezed in a quick ten-minute visit before his meeting. If he wasn’t worried about Linda playing matchmaker, he wouldn’t have bothered showing up at all.
The truth was, Douglas did have feelings for someone—Melissa.
Jesse’s older sister had a reputation for being an ice queen, and Douglas was hopelessly caught somewhere between being in love with her and being completely frustrated by her. Around her, with that cool, untouchable vibe, he could barely think straight. But whenever she stole a client or made his business life harder, he just wanted to scream.
The Mason Group and the Adams Group had a solid partnership. The White Group, on the other hand, was the Adams Group’s sworn enemy. So when Melissa went after the White Group, she did it with no mercy.
She could go head to head with any of those so-called male heirs. She was the acting CEO of The Mason Group, but everyone knew Jesse was the real successor. Sometimes Douglas thought she deserved better. But Melissa never complained about her family’s plans. She did her best as CEO, paving the way for Jesse, teaching him everything she could. They were cousins, but honestly, they were closer than most siblings.
Beyond her job at The Mason Group, Melissa owned Golden Horizon Enterprises—a business that was entirely hers. She only took over at The Mason Group because Jesse was too young at the time. She picked up the slack, and as soon as Jesse could take over, she’d step aside and focus on her own company.
As soon as Ethan stepped out of his car, Susan leaned in and spoke quietly. “Ethan, Natalie’s here. She said she was worried about Isabella and wanted to check on her.”
Ethan was exhausted after everything that had happened. He’d barely rested, and now Isabella waking up and immediately asking for a divorce had left him in a foul mood. Hearing what Susan said, his voice came out cold. “Isabella’s in the hospital. Why is Natalie here?”
If Natalie was really worried, she should be at the hospital. Did she not know Isabella was staying there? The news had been everywhere. Everyone in Cabinda knew.
Susan opened her mouth, but she couldn’t figure out how to respond.
Natalie was already inside. There was no way to stop her at the door. Even if Ethan seemed to care more about Isabella lately, Susan knew if she was rude to Natalie, Ethan would never forgive her. In his heart, Natalie still mattered more than Isabella ever could.
