A police officer led the secretary to identify the body. The medical examiner was already there, waiting. As the secretary moved closer, the examiner gently pulled back the white sheet. The secretary saw the woman’s face. Both cheeks were slashed, blood dried around her mouth and nose.
It was obvious she had suffered a lot before she died. The whole thing was brutal. Her eyes were still open, staring, like she couldn’t believe what had happened.
Even with her face so badly cut up, the secretary knew her right away. It was Isabella.
His face went pale. He staggered back, fumbled for his phone, and dialed Ethan.
When Ethan picked up, the secretary’s voice shook. “Mr. Adams, it’s your ex-wife. Isabella. The victim is her. She… she died terribly.”
The medical examiner spoke up, loud enough for Ethan to hear through the phone. “She was violated by several people before she died. Her body is covered in injuries.”
The secretary looked even sicker. Ethan was silent. He couldn’t get a word out.
Isabella was dead. The news hit him so hard his mind went blank. His hand shook and the phone slipped, clattering to the floor.
After a moment, he snapped out of it, bent down, and grabbed the phone. Seeing the call was still going, he said, “I’m coming right now.”
He hung up and bolted from his office, racing for the elevator. Inside, he called his driver and told him to bring the car around to the front. He needed to leave as soon as he hit the ground floor.
Two minutes later, Ethan was in the car, and they sped away from the Adams Group building.
Jeremy had just come back and saw Ethan rushing out. He called after him a few times, but Ethan didn’t hear anything. His mind was stuck on one thing.
The victim was Isabella.
How could Isabella be dead?
They had just gotten divorced. Now she was gone.
He thought about the last three years. Isabella did have a knack for making enemies. She’d stirred up trouble everywhere, and every time, he’d had to clean up after her. No matter how many times he warned her, she never listened.
She especially went after Natalie. The two of them were always at each other’s throats.
Every time they visited the family, Isabella would find ways to mess with Natalie. Jordan, Natalie’s brother, was sick of it.
Not long ago, Isabella had pushed Natalie down the stairs. Natalie lost her baby, and she’d only been pregnant for a month.
Jordan had wanted to tear Isabella apart.
To keep things from getting worse, Ethan promised Jordan he’d make it right. Isabella was still his wife back then, so he said he’d handle it himself and make sure Natalie got justice.
Jordan backed off, just barely. That was the only reason he didn’t kill Isabella right then and there.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
