“I already called. The police will be here soon.”
Right then, Harold showed up with the security guards from the neighborhood.
Barbara walked over to unlock the front gate for them, so they could come in without having to climb over it like Ethan and his team had.
“Barbara, are you alright?” Harold looked pale. That last thing she’d said on the phone had really shaken him, and he’d rushed over as fast as he could.
“I’m fine, Harold. Luckily, I caught them early, before they could get up on the roof. I don’t even want to think about what could’ve happened if they had.”
Harold took in the scene, his eyes landing on Ethan. He figured out right away that Ethan and his bodyguards were the ones who’d taken down the three intruders.
He walked over.
Ethan met his eyes but didn’t say anything.
“Ethan, did you find out who sent them?”
With Isabella’s safety on the line, neither of them was about to start an argument.
Ethan said, “They’re all strangers. Said they were here to steal something, but I don’t buy it. When my guys fought them, it was obvious they weren’t just ordinary thieves. Those moves… they’re definitely trained.”
Even if the men in black were keeping their mouths shut, the police would get the truth out of them eventually.
Harold frowned. “You think they’re with Dave?”
Dave was still locked up, thanks to Ethan and Isabella. He’d tried to kidnap Ethan, but the two of them had fought back until the police came. Ethan had gotten hurt, but Isabella had made it out unscathed. Some of the kidnappers were caught that night, and the rest had been tracked down over the next month. Now, all of them were behind bars.
Dave was the ringleader, which meant he was facing the longest sentence. But everyone knew he still had plenty of people on the outside. No one would be shocked if they tried to get back at Ethan and Isabella.
Ethan’s face stayed serious. “It’s possible.” His voice was low.
But how would Dave’s people know Isabella was living alone here? The divorce agreement, where Ethan gave her the villa and moved out, wasn’t public knowledge.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
