After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 760

Isabella looked away, not meeting Harold’s eyes anymore.

“Isabella, I’m going to head out. Try to get some rest, even if it’s just for fifteen minutes. It’ll make you feel better,” Harold said, reading the mood and deciding not to push the topic of their relationship.

“Okay, I’ll walk you out.”

“No need. If you walk me out, I’ll just worry about you, then I’ll feel like I should walk you back upstairs, and you’ll try to walk me out again. We’ll be stuck here all day. I know this place as well as my own office. Honestly, I could find my way out with my eyes closed. You don’t have to see me off.”

Isabella laughed. “Fine. I’ll just walk you to the elevator then.”

Harold didn’t argue. She walked him over to the elevator.

When the doors opened, Harold stepped inside and turned around, giving her a wave before the doors slid shut.

Once he left, Isabella went back to her office and closed the door behind her.

Her office wasn’t nearly as big as the kind the big bosses like Ethan had. There was just a tiny kitchenette, no lounge or private space to relax. If she wanted to nap during the day, her options were either to put her head down on the desk or stretch out on the guest sofa.

Since time was tight, Isabella just laid her head on the desk.

She was so tired that she fell asleep right away.

About twenty minutes later, a knock at the door woke her up.

Luckily, since she’d been sleeping at her desk, she was already in place and didn’t have to move.

Nana came in.

“Isabella, Mr. Adams is here.”

Isabella frowned a little. Seriously? That guy again? The afternoon had barely started and he was already here.

“Come on, Isabella, don’t make it sound like we’re crashing the place,” Frank replied, grinning. “And really, just call me Frank like you used to. When you say ‘Mr. Adams,’ I almost think you’re talking about someone else.”

Isabella shook hands with Lyndon, then glanced at the unfamiliar guy. Frank quickly introduced him as a screenwriter.

After shaking the screenwriter’s hand, Isabella invited everyone to take a seat on the sofa.

Nana went to the kitchenette and came back with a fresh pot of tea.

She poured everyone a cup, then quietly slipped back out.

Isabella still didn’t know what brought Frank over, so she started with some small talk, asking about how The Adams Entertainment’s short dramas were going.

Her own company finished their dramas quickly, getting them filmed and online one after another. The Adams Entertainment, though, had only put out one so far, but it was an instant hit. Frank was picky about quality and, since he had the budget, he made sure everything—from the script to the filming—was done to the highest standard.
