After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 807

The partnership between the Adams Group and the Carter Group was unraveling, piece by piece. Their successors had gone from polite smiles to open hostility, and all of it was because of a woman.

Ethan didn’t regret his choices. Neither did Harold.

Harold glanced outside at the rain hammering against the windows. The storm hadn’t let up, though the wind seemed calmer now. Every so often, lightning flashed and thunder rumbled in the distance.

He sighed. “Who knows when this rain will stop.”

Isabella checked her phone for the weather report. “Looks like we’ve got another hour of this.”

“You didn’t bring an umbrella, did you? Let me grab one for you. You don’t live far, so you’ll be fine getting home, even if it’s pouring.”

She stood to get the umbrella, but Harold followed her to the hallway. “Honestly, I wanted to stay a little longer and wait for the rain to slow down. But since you’re not feeling your best, I shouldn’t keep you up. You should get some rest.”

Isabella smiled, a little tired. She needed to take off her makeup, get out of her evening dress, and let a hot shower wash away the exhaustion. That would help.

“We’ll catch up another day. By the way, we picked the start dates for filming those two short series we’re working on. I’ll send you the details later.”

Harold grinned. “That was quick.”

“The scripts are set, the cast is locked in. All that was left was picking a good day to start shooting.”

Now that Isabella had her own roster of contracted actors, she didn’t have to rely on borrowing talent from Frank. Things were so much simpler.

“I can’t promise a runaway hit, but I know it won’t lose money,” Isabella replied, lips curving into a confident smile. “Short series are solid these days. As long as you put in the effort, you’ll turn a profit. You might not strike gold, but you won’t walk away empty-handed.”

That was why so many people were diving into the market.

She remembered, in her last life, during the year she died, a lot of TV actors and some faded stars had started filming short series. A few even managed to use those roles as a springboard to bigger projects.

But in those final two years, the short series market started to cool off. Regulations were introduced, slowly bringing order to the chaos and reining in the wild west atmosphere.

Isabella didn’t worry about what would happen down the line. Her plan was simple: take advantage of the boom while it lasted, make her money, and then move on to new opportunities.
