Ethan didn’t say a word.
After a long pause, he finally let out a quiet sigh. “Grandma, if even your advice can’t help me win Isabella back, I’ll let her go. I’ll let her be with Harold.”
He and Harold had been friends for years. Ethan knew exactly what kind of person Harold was. If Isabella chose Harold, she’d probably be happy. That was something Ethan could accept.
“First things first, you need to start distancing yourself from Natalie,” his grandma said. “Cut back on seeing her, talk to her less, and eventually stop altogether. She’s the main reason you and Isabella divorced. If you don’t deal with this, it doesn’t matter what you do. Even if you poured your heart out, Isabella still wouldn’t believe you.”
Ethan nodded. “I know, Grandma. I used to think letting Natalie go would be impossible, but now I barely visit her, and I’ve turned down her invitations so many times. Turns out, saying no and moving on really isn’t as hard as I thought.”
“That’s good to hear.”
“Tomorrow, I’ll take you to apologize to Isabella first thing. You need to say sorry for your attitude tonight. Once you’ve done that, we’ll come right home. No hanging around. Just get it over with and move on with your day.”
“Grandma, can’t we have breakfast with Isabella in the morning?”
“If she doesn’t invite us, don’t even bring it up. I told you not to push her too much. Did you already forget?”
Stephanie poked Ethan in the head a couple of times, clearly frustrated.
“You’re letting your desperation get the better of you.”
Ethan just smiled awkwardly, too embarrassed to say anything back.
Hopefully, he’d learn from all this. If he ever married again, he’d know how to treat his wife right.
No more making the mistake of protecting someone else while hurting the person he was supposed to love.
Ethan was quiet again.
Stephanie went on, “Besides what I already said, if you want to send Isabella flowers, go ahead. And if she ever needs help, you help her, no conditions, no strings attached. Don’t help her and then expect her to treat you to dinner or pay you back.”
Ethan nodded. “I understand, Grandma. If she runs into trouble and I hear about it, I’ll go help her right away. Like the other night, when someone broke into her house. I hired bodyguards to watch over her, just in case. She got targeted because of me, so it’s only right that I keep her safe.”

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
