Isabella texted him back, It’s okay, don’t worry about me. Focus on your work.
Still, after thinking it over, she sent Harold a voice message. “Nadine came to see me.”
Almost immediately, Harold called.
He sounded frantic. “Isabella, did Nadine do anything to you? She didn’t try to mess with you, did she? Why did she go looking for you? If she so much as touched you, I swear I’d cut off both her hands.”
It was the first time Isabella had ever heard him sound so fierce.
Her impression of Harold had always been that he was gentle and polished. Sure, Ethan had warned her that Harold wasn’t as perfect as he seemed, just good at putting on a show for her. Anyone picked to be the family heir couldn’t be a saint, but they weren’t a total villain either.
Even Isabella didn’t dare call herself a saint.
“Harold, do I really seem that easy to push around? I mean, I never trained in self-defense, but I can definitely hold my own in a fight. Don’t forget, Ethan and I faced down a whole group of kidnappers and managed to hold out until the police arrived.”
Thinking about that night still amazed her. She’d found a strength she never knew she had. Back then, all she could think was that she wanted revenge. She couldn’t let the same people who had hurt and killed her in her last life get away, and she refused to fall into their hands again. So she fought back as hard as she could, working with Ethan, and somehow they survived until help showed up.
When Dave tried to escape in his car, all she could think was that she had to stop him. She chased after him and crashed her car into his, flipping it over and making sure he couldn’t get away. Now, Dave and his gang were all locked up in prison.
“So, what did Nadine say to you?” Harold asked, his voice low and tense.
He was clearly not happy that Nadine had gone to see Isabella.
It was like he thought, in Isabella’s eyes, he was only worth ten billion.
He wanted to be priceless.
To him, she was priceless.
Ethan had once told him that if he gave up fighting, there would be plenty of rewards. The Adams Group would make sure the Carter Group always had the best deals, with profits that would make anyone happy. But Harold had turned it all down, because Isabella meant more to him than anything.
All he really wanted was to mean just as much to her.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
