Laura glanced at her mom and said, “Mom, Jesse and I just started dating. How are you already best friends with his mom?”
Her mother grinned. “Janetta’s just so warm and welcoming, I couldn’t help it. Besides, I really like Jesse. If Janetta doesn’t have a problem with our family, why should I? It’s only fair to treat her the same.”
Laura raised her eyebrows. “Wait, are you hanging out with Janetta behind my back now?”
She had no idea their moms were so close they were going shopping together.
“Why not?” her mom replied. “Janetta’s honestly wonderful. We just click. I wish I’d met her sooner. She even told me that even if you and Jesse don’t get married, we could still stay friends.”
Laura just stared, speechless.
It felt like everyone around her was in a rush, except her and Jesse.
Jesse, on the other hand, was definitely not as calm as he looked. He was more anxious than anyone. Once they got married, he’d finally have her by his side, so naturally, he was eager. But he knew he couldn’t push Laura. She took her time with feelings.
So Jesse had been patient. He slowly won over the entire Charles family, warming them up just like he did with Laura. Only after all that did she finally let him in, and they officially started dating.
Across the room, Isabella shot Evelyn a secret thumbs-up.
Janetta came from money, but she was the one who reached out to Evelyn first. The moms hit it off, and that made things so much easier for Laura and Jesse. With the two mothers already close, there was less pressure and more support for the young couple.
At least Laura didn’t have to worry about the Masons looking down on her or her family.
What none of them knew was that Isabella’s car accident that day wasn’t actually an accident. The driver who rear-ended her had done it on purpose.
York had sent him to stage the crash and get rid of Isabella.
Maybe the driver hadn’t planned it out well, or maybe he got nervous at the last second. Either way, the crash looked serious, but Isabella walked away without a scratch. The car was wrecked, the back seats and trunk were crushed, but Isabella in the driver’s seat was completely fine.
After the police finished their report, the driver made a call to one of York’s bodyguards to report that he’d failed.
“I smashed up her car pretty badly,” he said, “but she didn’t even get hurt. She’s got some serious luck.”
“Next time, I’ll have to hit her head-on while she’s driving. That’s the only way to make sure she doesn’t survive.”

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
