The bodyguard didn’t say a word. He ended the call quietly, then stepped over to York and leaned in close. “The job didn’t work out. Her car’s totaled, but she survived.”
York’s eyes went ice cold. He took a slow drag from his cigarette, the smoke curling around his fingers. “She’s got some luck, I’ll give her that,” he said, his voice low and flat.
“He says next time he’ll go straight for her. No way she makes it out alive.”
York paused, thinking it over. “Tell him to hold off and wait for my word. We can’t try again right away. There has to be a few months in between. If it happens again too soon, they’ll get suspicious.”
Isabella was nothing like she’d been in his last life.
Back then, York hadn’t paid much attention to her at first. It was only after Dave and his guys killed her that York bothered to find out what kind of person she really was.
But this time around, Isabella wasn’t locked in some all-out war with Natalie. Everything was different.
Ethan didn’t have that blind loyalty to Natalie either. Now, it was obvious he cared more about Isabella.
The biggest change was that Isabella and Ethan were already divorced, and her supposed death was still more than two years away compared to last time.
York couldn’t shake the feeling that Isabella had been reborn, just like him.
Before, he’d never have believed something so crazy. But after it happened to him, he couldn’t deny it anymore.
When he first woke up, he thought it was just a weird dream. But as things started to make sense, the word “rebirth” popped into his mind, and he realized that’s exactly what had happened to him.
And if he could come back, then maybe Isabella could too.
That would explain so much. Like why she’d been willing to risk everything, ramming Dave’s car when he tried to escape. She hated Dave with everything she had, because he was the one who killed her.
York never thought he deserved the death penalty. In his mind, it was all Ethan and the others’ fault. So waking up in this life, the longer he thought about it, the more the anger festered. He swore he’d get revenge on Ethan and Isabella.
Natalie wouldn’t get off easy, either. When she came looking for him, he’d slipped something into her drink, let his men have their way with her, and recorded plenty of photos and videos.
Now he kept those as insurance, forcing Natalie to play along as his pawn for all the world to see.
“Got it,” the bodyguard replied.
He called the driver right away, told him to lay low for a while since the job hadn’t worked out.
If Isabella got into two accidents in a row, both times with the same driver, Ethan and his people would definitely start asking questions.
York got up and walked to the window, cigarette still between his fingers. He looked out over the city, watching the bright, busy streets of Cabinda from his spot high above it all.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
