Every time she thought about her dad’s side of the family, Isabella felt this deep, burning hatred. There was just no way she could ever forgive them. Honestly, the best thing would be if everyone just stayed in their own lane, no contact, no drama. But the George family couldn’t leave her alone. If they wanted trouble, she was done playing nice.
“Mom, Grandma’s sick. Probably something serious. They said she needs a ton of money for treatment and told me I have to pay her medical bills. On top of that, they want me to bring both grandparents over to live with me, like I’m supposed to take care of them in their old age.”
She rolled her eyes. “I said no. They have plenty of kids and a whole crowd of grandkids. Why should I be the one stuck with everything?”
“If they really want my money, they can take me to court. Whatever the judge decides, I’ll pay, but taking care of them for the rest of their lives? No way.”
Cynthia let out a slow breath, visibly relieved. At least her daughter wouldn’t let the George family push her around.
Still, Cynthia’s anger simmered just below the surface. Whenever she thought about everything that happened, her eyes would sting and tears would threaten to spill over. After her husband’s sudden death, she was still drowning in grief, and that’s when Paul tried to assault her. When she fought back, they tried to sell her and Isabella. They even took everything she and her husband had worked for—the house, the restaurant, all of it. Her husband had been such a good man, always respectful to his parents, always looking out for his siblings. Sure, there were little arguments with the in-laws sometimes, but as long as her husband was around, he kept the peace and everyone got along well enough.
The second he died, they all showed who they really were. Cynthia never imagined her in-laws could be so heartless.
“Cynthia, hold this ice on Isabella’s face to help with the swelling,” Harold said, handing over a bag of ice.
“Don’t worry. I’m here. I won’t let them mess with Isabella,” he added.
Stephanie quickly joined in. “Cynthia, you don’t have to worry. Tomorrow I’ll have someone take care of it. If they try to bother Isabella again, they’ll have to deal with us first.”
Her grandson wasn’t around, so she had to step in.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
