After One Night with the Alpha (Brad and Elle) novel Chapter 120

Chapter 120

Brad’s POV

The bar area of Roy’s villa was a sight to behold. Human servers had already opened countless bottles of bee.

1 lounged back against the leather sofa, watching with detached amusement as Lester and Roy engaged in their drinking competition. Both Alphas were radiating their power, filling the room with competing pheromones, but my mind was elsewhere.

Mira approached gracefully, carrying two glasses of red wine. She settled beside me with natural intimacy, the kind of closeness that

spoke of our shared past.

“Here,’ she said, offering me a glass.

I accepted the wine.

Roy turned those sharp eyes directly on me. “Speaking of which, Brad, what exactly happened with you? A human girl conceiving your

child?”

Then his tone shifted, becoming more protective. “Although Brad was forced into marrying a human initially, if you look at him now, there’s nothing forced about it.”

I felt a bitter smile tug at my lips as memories flooded back. How I just did it that night, how I could have taken precautions the next day

but chose not to.

Lester’s voice cut through my reflections, thick with disapproval. “Roy, I get the feeling you really like that Elle. Mira is our friend and she is a wolf! How can humans compare to us?”

His expression showed clear confusion and racial superiority. “Lester clearly can’t understand why you’d defend a human over supporting

Mira.”

Mira quickly adopted her practiced victim pose, her voice soft as moonlit petals. “Lester, don’t say things like that.”

Her carefully crafted words dripped with false magnanimity: “Elle is quite nice actually she’s kind, and it’s not easy for a human to conceive an Alpha’s child. I actually like her quite a bit.”

Then came the venomous core wrapped in silk: “Even if Brad and Elle separate in the future, I hope she can leave Moonshade Bay happily, without any regrets.”

The word “separate” triggered something primal in me. My jaw clenched as possessive fury coursed through my Alpha instincts.

Lester pressed on, oblivious to my rising anger. “You’re always so kind! Elle is just a human who got lucky. This position should rightfully be yours… Werewolves belong with werewolves.”

The room went dead silent. Mira’s face turned ashen, tears gathering in her eyes but refusing to fall

Lester’s anger erupted on Mira’s behalf. What’s wrong with you? Didn’t you tell me that being with Elle wasn’t your willing choice? That you two weren’t naturally compatible mates!”

His words came rapid-fire, confusion and indignation clear. Since your mating with Elle was forced by Elizabeth, and now Mirax back.

Roy immediately stepped in, his wisdom cutting through the tension. “Alright, enough of this pointless arguing.”

He refocused everyone on the evenings actual purpose.

Then he smoothly redirected Mira: Tm worried about Yara. Mira, could you help me check on ber?”

Mira’s body went rigid, her plans clearly disrupted. A flash of frustrated calculation crossed her features before she forced a smile.

“Of course.”

Once Mira was gone, Roy immediately confronted Lester. “Lester, you seem awfully invested in Mira.”

His pointed question cut deep: “If Mira and Sophia ever conflict, who would you support?”

Roy’s Alpha intuition was sharp: “Can’t you see that Brad has feelings for Elle?”

His final question was devastating: “Put yourself in this situation – would you betray your own mate?”

Lester tried to deflect: “But Brad and Mira were originally a pair…”

I’d had enough. My wolf’s golden eyes flashed as I cut him off. ‘Stop. Just stop.”

My declaration rang with Alpha authority: ‘I’m making this crystal clear today – Mira and I are finished. Elle is my mate, end of story.”

I emphasized my autonomy: “Whatever happens between Elle and me is our business alone. You stay out of this.”

Turning to Roy with genuine gratitude, I raised my glass. “Thanks, Roy.”

We clinked glasses and drank deeply.

Lester let out a heavy sigh, his emotional defeat obvious. His internal struggle was written across his face.

Chapter 120

He really doesn’t like Elle, I realized. He’s been hoping we could go back to days in Frostclaw Pack. But it was all wishful thinking. Those days are gone forever.

My mind kept drifting to Elle. The mate bond made her absence feel like a physical ache.

I pulled out my phone and typed a simple message: “Where are you?”

The three words carried all my worry and longing.

Her internal conflict was clear in her curt response: “Some where.”

Looking at her reply, the expensive rare wine in my glass suddenly tasted flat. Nothing mattered except getting back to Elle.

“This is the wine you’ve been coveting forever – only opened during full moons,” Lester said, confused by my lack of enthusiasm. “Why

don’t you seem excited?”

Roy understood immediately, a knowing grin crossing his face. “Brad’s body is here but his heart is with his mate.”

I found myself unable to focus on anything but my phone screen. My wolf was becoming increasingly agitated by the separation.

The urge to abandon everything and go find her was overwhelming. Every Alpha instinct I possessed was screaming at me to return to my

mate.

As Roy and Lester continued drinking, I watched Roy maintain his composure while Lester grew increasingly intoxicated. My friend’s

understanding was evident in his knowing looks.

“I think Lester and I have had enough,” Roy said diplomatically. “If you’re worried about your mate, go find her.”

I stood immediately, my eagerness embarrassingly obvious.

‘Sorry, Roy, I just…” My Alpha facade cracked, revealing my genuine anxiety.

Roy cut me off with complete understanding. “No explanations needed, I know the power of mate bonds.”

His encouraging words meant everything: “I think Elle seems like a good human girl. You’ve got good instincts treasure your mate.”

A genuine smile crossed my face as I raised my glass one final time. “Thanks, Roy.”

Roy promised to handle the intoxicated Lester, and our unspoken understanding needed no further words,

The moment I left the villa, I immediately called Elle, my voice urgent with Alpha concern.

“Where are you? I’m coming to get you!”
