en, Georgy, and Teddy all went quiet, three pairs of eyes staring at her simultaneously.
After a moment, fudian looked at her with an expression that screamed too–annoyed–for–words and let out a scoff. Ms. Forbes, thank you for advertising on my behalf. I’ll be sure to add another mark to your merit book.”
With that, he stood up and went into his study, responding to Louisa’s hurried “Mr. Tudor, I didn’t mean you like men, I meant- with
nothing but the loud slam of a door.
Did that mean he was angry? But she hadn’t said anything wrong. He was the one who told her he didn’t like women. In that moment, she
was genuinely confused.
George caught up with the situation and frowned. “Julian is actually gay?”
He didn’t look like it, and George had never heard any rumors about that.
Louisa didn’t want to answer his questions anymore. “The point is, Mr. Tudor and I have nothing but a professional relationship. Don’t go around spreading nonsense.”
Tine! George agreed readily, “Quit your job, and I’ll believe you.”
I need your belief? Louisa rolled her eyes. “Believe whatever you want. Can you leave now?”
George’s face darkened again. “If you don’t like Julian, why insist on working at his company? Our family’s company would let you do whatever you want. Are you trying to get back at me? Deliberately using Julian to make me jealous?”
“Because I want to, Louisa said, then laughed bitterly at his accusations. “George, are you mentally ill?”
He was the one who cheated, and she found out. Now he thought she’d use the same method for revenge? What kind of logic was that?
It was like seeing a rat drop into a pot of soup and then purposely throwing in another rat before drinking the whole thing. She would never do something like that.
She couldn’t be bothered with him anymore and turned to leave Julian’s home.
In the study, Julian sat behind his desk while Teddy stood at a distance, not daring to speak, just occasionally stealing glances at his boss. His boss was gay? How had he never known this?

tobian gave him a cool look “Don’t you have work to do?”
Yes! Teddy immediately stood at attention. The Aurora Media Group situation might be resolved, but there were still matters at the Tudor Group that needed attention.
“This morning, Teddy respectfully reported, “the old foxes from investment cornered Ms. Hughes demanding explanations. She couldn’t handle them and eventually lost her temper.
But they won’t give up easily. To protect their jobs, they’ll try everything. Several executives have already called me this morning,
Insisting on seeing you…”
Teddy couldn’t help but frown. The investment department had originally been under Percy, the current VP. Most people there had once
been Percy’s people,
Two years ago, when Percy was promoted, he had planned to promote his deputy director, but William, the long–uninvolved Tudor Group chairman, suddenly intervened, transferred the deputy, and parachuted Teresa–the pampered fourth daughter of the Tudor family who was completely devoted to Julian–into that position.
On the surface, the investment department had broken away from Percy’s control, but several team leaders were still loyal to him.
Now they had united and gone to Percy. If he joined forces with senior management and the board to apply pressure, the situation would be very unfavorable for Julian.
However, Julian just gave a cold smile. “Isn’t that perfect?”
“What’s perfect?” Teddy didn’t understand.
“Perfect for staying put and seeing who else is working for Percy.”
Over the years, Percy had turned the investment department into a mess. Though competent, his people would stop at nothing for projects and bonuses, crossing all ethical lines.
Julian had wanted to deal with them, but it would have caused ripple effects throughout the company. Plus, in his two years as boss, those people weren’t sure what he was thinking and didn’t dare act rashly.
That’s why Julian hadn’t moved against them yet. Now, however, the timing was right.
Teddy understood his boss’s meaning. “Staying still to control the situation is a good approach. But what about Neil? He caused such a big problem–are we just letting him off?”
“There’s no need to keep him. Have HR issue a notice. Fire Neil and promote Louisa to his position. Also, Teresa failed in her supervisory role–demote her to deputy director.”
“Deputy director? Teddy was shocked. ‘Is that appropriate? Ms. Hughes was appointed by the chairman himself, and she’s always been

prond. Being suddenly demoted–she won’t take it well.
Plenty of pride, insufficient ability. Should we let the entire investment department stagnate under her leadership?
But… Teddy was still concerned. “With her demotion and Ms. Forbes’s promotion, won’t she cause trouble for Ms. Forbes?”
E
“Is that for you to worry about?‘ Julian wasn’t concerned, If Teresa could really suppress Louisa, Louisa wouldn’t have been able to take down Aurora Media Group in one move,
Teddy nodded. ‘I understand, I’ll arrange it right away,”
“Wait.‘ Julian called him back and pondered for a moment. “Assign someone to protect her discreetly. Don’t let her know.”
Teddy broke into a grin. It seemed like his boss was more concerned than anyone.
Julian glanced up at him. “Do you have a problem with that?”
“No, no, I’ll arrange it immediately.” Teddy scurried away.
Meanwhile, Louisa had no idea she’d be getting promoted on her third day of work. After leaving Julian’s home, she didn’t return to her own place. Instead, she paced back and forth in the hallway on her injured leg.
George followed closely behind her, occasionally glancing at her injury with concern. “Honey, be careful with your leg. Let’s go home.”
Louisa replied impatiently, “Sure. You leave, and I’ll go home.”
