Chapter 120
Louisa froze immediately at Julian’s tone, suddenly as docile as a little girl.
Julian flicked her forehead lightly. “Who told you it’s okay to feel up men?”
“Sorry,” Louisa hung her head. It’s not like she meant to grope him. She just… couldn’t explain it. She hadn’t thought it through.
“Your leg is injured. Instead of staying safely at home, you’re running around causing trouble,” Julian
scolded. “Maybe you shouldn’t be a manager anymore–you should just be my personal tormentor. You
seem to have a natural talent for it.”
Louisa rarely saw him angry, so she remained silent, head bowed as he lectured her.
“Can you still walk?” Julian asked.
“I think so.” Even if she couldn’t, she’d say she could.
Julian turned his back to her and crouched down. “Get on.”
“Okay.” She obediently climbed onto his back. She had no choice–her leg truly couldn’t support her
anymore.
He carried her toward the car. Louisa wrapped her arms around his neck, her cheek resting against his
shoulder.
The night was peaceful. Tree leaves rustled in the wind. She felt like crying.
“Julian, you’re like my father.”
“One more word and I’ll drop you.”
Ignoring his threat, Louisa nestled her cheek against his shoulder, her voice hoarse. “When I was little, my dad used to carry me home just like this. He was amazing–he used to be a bodyguard for a wealthy family, and he was incredibly strong.
“Because of him, no one in my class dared bully me. He loved me so much, always worried about me.
“Whenever I was even a little late coming home from school, he’d meet me on the way and carry me the rest of the way, buying me treats…”

Her voice became choked with emotion. She missed her father.
Julian seemed to hear her unspoken thoughts. If your father loves you so much, couldn’t you visit him anytime?”
Louisa shook her head. “My mother doesn’t like me, so I rarely go back.”
After a moment of silence, Julian said, “I’m sorry.”
Louisa was surprised by his apology. She paused, then replied casually, ‘It’s fine. I’m used to it.”
But what kind of pain could one truly get used to?
Julian didn’t ask further. Louisa didn’t hear the soft, sympathetic sigh that was carried away by the wind.
When they reached the car, he opened the door and placed her in the passenger seat. He sat in the driver’s
seat and started the engine.
Louisa was surprised that he had driven himself. In her memory, he almost never drove–it was always Bob or Teddy behind the wheel.
Had he specifically driven here to rescue her? A warm feeling spread through her chest.
She took out her phone and sent Flora a message saying she was safe and on her way back.
Flora, who had already driven into the mountains, immediately stopped her car and replied: [Who rescued
you?]
Who else besides a devoted friend like her would come to this remote wilderness in the middle of the
night?
Louisa hesitated, unsure whether to mention Julian’s name. Flora seemed to sense it and immediately asked: [It’s Julian, isn’t it?]
Louisa remained silent.
Flora’s excitement bubbled through her next message: [Wow, Julian came to get you personally? How romantic! Tell me honestly, why did he come for you? How far have you two gone?]
Louisa rolled her eyes: [There’s nothing between us. Stop making things up. It was probably just a coincidence.)

Chapter 120
Flora: [A coincidence in the mountains at midnight? Do you think I’m stupid?]
Louisa: [Fine, I’ll be honest. I really don’t know how he happened to appear. It’s a mystery. Feel free to
investigate if you’re curious.]
Flora: [Do I need to? I’ve been following him around for over twenty years? He never meddles in other
people’s business, yet he’s rescued you how many times now? You should just get together with him. Isn’t
Our Julian better than your scumbag ex–husband?]
Louisa: [How many times do I have to tell you? Mr. Tudor and I are just boss and employee. I just think he’s nice because he always saves me, but he’s not interested in me. He has a boyfriend.]
Flora: [What?!]
Louisa didn’t reply further. She had unconsciously shared information she knew, but immediately regretted
Spreading her boss’s private matters wasn’t appropriate. She shouldn’t have said anything.
Julian noticed her regretful, conflicted expression. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“N–nothing,” she quickly replied.
Julian gave her a suspicious look, his voice taking on a dangerous edge. “Do you know that stuttering is a
sign of guilt?”
“W–who’s guilty?” she stammered.
“You’re stuttering again.” He pointed out coldly, glancing at her phone.
Louisa instinctively clutched her phone to her chest, her guilt plainly visible.
Julian seemed to understand everything, but said nothing more.
Meanwhile, George returned to his car with a bag of food, only to find the trunk open and the car empty. Furious, he threw the bag to the ground.
Hadn’t she said her leg wasn’t healed and she couldn’t walk? What a liar.
Yet beneath his anger was worry. She was alone–what she encountered danger? What if she met someone with bad intentions? Or wild animals?

Chapter 120
Wait–hadn’t there been a man’s voice outside the car earlier? She was so beautiful–what if something terrible happened to her? His heart raced with panic, forgetting that he himself had been the biggest threat
to her.
He looked around, trying to figure out which direction she had fled, then immediately set off after her. Even though he’d already spent an hour going to buy food and coming back, he couldn’t abandon her.
He ran frantically, searching for her. Surprisingly, there was traffic passing by the foot of this remote
mountain.
As he crossed the road, a car suddenly sped toward him. He instinctively turned to look, but the headlights blinded him. In that moment, he forgot to move out of the way.
