Chapter 121
valles AllIIS
The driver was Flora.
She had just been about to head back when she slammed on the brakes. In this desolate place without streetlights, she hadn’t expected to encounter anyone.
Getting out of the car, she saw it was George. Without a word, she turned to leave.
“Flora, stop right there!” George grabbed her arm and pushed her aside, then went to open her car door.
Flora nearly fell. “George, are you insane?” she cursed.
Ignoring her outburst, George checked the entire car. Finding no sign of Louisa, he turned furiously to Flora. “Where’s my wife?”
“How should I know?”
“Then what are you doing here?”
“Just passing through.” A confident answer.
George gave a cold, sinister laugh. “Passing through the middle of nowhere? Who are you kidding? Where
is Louisa?”
“I told you, I don’t know.”
“Fine!” George nodded sharply, then opened the passenger door and sat down.
Flora was speechless at his audacity. “Mr. Capulet, do you think this is your car? I’m not your driver. Get
out!”
George remained unmoved, sitting like an ice sculpture!
Flora was completely at a loss. She couldn’t overpower George, and yelling at him wasn’t working.
She reluctantly got into the car, fastened her seatbelt, and said, “If you don’t believe me, fine, sit there. See if I’m going to pick up your… ex–wife!”
She emphasized “ex–wife” deliberately.

George’s eyes flashed dangerously as he glared at her.
Flora was somewhat afraid of him, so she fell silent and started the car. It didn’t matter anyway–Louisa had already been picked up. If he wanted to waste time with her, so be it.

The car gradually left the wilderness behind and entered a small town. Seeing that she showed no signs of stopping or picking anyone up, George’s frown deepened.
Just then, Flora’s phone chimed with a message and location. As she unlocked it with facial recognition, a male hand suddenly reached over and snatched it away.
“George, what are you doing? Why are you taking my phone?”
Flora was driving and needed to watch the road, so she couldn’t grab it back immediately.
George had already opened her WhatsApp and seen the new message from Louisa. She had arrived in town
and sent Flora a location to meet.
George didn’t just read Louisa’s message–he scrolled through their entire conversation history and discovered that Julian had rescued Louisa.
The veins on his forehead bulged with rage. He nearly crushed the phone in his grip. So Louisa really had been rescued by Julian. That meant Julian had been monitoring her whereabouts?
Even Flora could see Julian’s intentions toward Louisa weren’t pure, yet Louisa dared claim they were just
friends?
Suppressing his fury, he replied with a simple “OK,” then opened the navigation and commanded Flora, “Go
here.”
“You think I’ll just go wherever you say? I-”
“Go! Or I’ll throw you out!” His angry roar cut her off.
Flora shivered involuntarily. How had she gotten mixed up with this jerk? She couldn’t imagine how Louisa had endured him for so many years.
Given his emotional state on the edge of explosion, she didn’t dare speak further and drove obediently.
Meanwhile, Louisa had no idea Flora had been hijacked
Jullan had brought her to the small town and parked the car. He got out, opened the passenger door, and

lifted her out.
“Hold on tight,” he instructed.
“Okay.” She wrapped her arms around his neck as commanded.
He carried her with one arm, freeing his other hand to dose the car door.
The town was sparsely populated, and most shops had dosed after dark. Only a clinic still had its lights on.
There were no patients inside, just a plump female doctor.
Julian placed Louisa on the examination bed and said to the doctor, “She has a leg injury. Please check if
the wound has reopened and give her something for the pain.”
“Of course.”
The doctor, initially dazzled by Julian’s stunning appearance, quickly regained her composure and began
examining Louisa’s wound.
Louisa glanced up at Julian, surprised by his comment. She had been enduring the pain silently–how did
he know her wound was hurting again?
The doctor unwrapped the bandage, exposing the injury. The previously scabbed wound had reopened,
revealing raw flesh underneath.
The broken scabs had fallen into the new tissue, creating a truly gruesome sight.
The doctor frowned. “This kind of injury needs proper rest. You should wait until it’s completely healed before moving around. Why were you engaging in strenuous activity? Such a beautiful leg–it would be a shame to leave a scar.”
Louisa grimaced. ‘It’s not like I wanted this.”
Julian frowned as well.
“I’ll clean and redress the wound now,” the doctor said. It might hurt a bit. Try to bear with it.”
“It’s fine, go ahead. Louisa thought she could handle the pain.
But when the alcohol touched her wound, she cried out involuntarily. A bit of pain? It hurt terribly!
Julian stood by the bed at her side and put his arm around her shoulders. ‘Just bear it a little longer,” he

Louisa didn’t speak, just clutched the edge of his clothes. When the pain struck again, every nerve in her body seemed to contract at once. Reflexively, she wrapped her arms around his waist.
Julian looked down at Louisa, her face buried against his abdomen, arms tight around his waist, trembling.
He sighed silently. His elegant, perfectly formed hand came to rest on her head, gently stroking her hair.
His wordless comfort seemed to carry a certain power, gradually calming her.
Suddenly, he said, “Yesterday, didn’t you ask me about the ultimate form of business–finance integration?”
Louisa lifted her head from his embrace. The glistening in her eyes was particularly bright, as if to say: ‘In this condition, you still wants me to think about work?
Yet somehow, she found herself asking, “You have an answer?” Her voice was pitiful.
“Yes.” Julian nodded. “Would you like to know?”
