Chapter 122
“Yes!” Louisa answered without hesitation.
Julian looked at her little workaholic demeanor and chuckled dryly before beginning his explanation.
His voice was cool, deep, and smooth–a quality uniquely his own–carrying a hint of gentleness. Unhurried yet captivating enough to quiet anyone instantly.
She found herself drifting into a trance.
When Julian finished, he noticed her bewildered expression and smirked. “Did you understand any of that?”
She nodded instinctively, then shook her head. She seemed to have both absorbed everything and nothing at all.
“If you still don’t get it, look it up yourself,” he said. Her wound was mostly treated anyway.
The female doctor finished bandaging her and looked at Louisa with envious eyes. “Young lady, your boyfriend has skills. You’re the first patient with this kind of injury who hasn’t cried or made a fuss.”
Louisa didn’t understand what she meant, but caught the word ‘boyfriend‘ and automatically corrected her. “He’s not my boyfriend. He’s my boss.”
The doctor clearly didn’t believe her. Her curious gaze bounced between them–how could such a perfectly matched pair not be a couple?
Julian interjected, “Thank you. You can go now. We’re waiting for someone.”
“Sure.” The doctor rose and left.
Louisa gave Julian a puzzled look. “Why didn’t you correct her?”
“What’s the point of explaining anything to someone we’ll probably never see again?”
His words made some sense. But Louisa still felt something off about it.
Before she could dwell on it, the sound of brakes screeching came from outside. Flora had arrived. And
with her–a fuming George.
Louisa froze, all expression draining from her face in an instant.

Julian noticed her reaction and glanced over. He immediately understood the situation. He turned back to Louisa, who was on the verge of tears, and said simply, Bad luck.”
Indeed–after all that circling around, George had still found her.
The terror of nearly being assaulted by George in his car suddenly flooded back. She instinctively grabbed
the edge of Julian’s shirt, her long eyelashes trembling. Don’t let him take me.”
Julian rarely saw such fear in her eyes. Something tugged at his heart, and his voice took on a husky
tenderness. “I won’t.”
When George entered, this was the scene he witnessed their seemingly intimate exchange.
His anger exploded instantly as he charged forward. “Mr. Tudor, don’t you have anything better to do than
hover around someone else’s wife?”
Flora spoke up first. “George, stop snapping at everyone like a rabid dog. Julian was being kind and helping someone in need. Can’t you understand that?”
“Kind? Helping?” George fixed Julian with a sinister glare. “He knows exactly what his intentions are.”
Julian smiled faintly. Compared to the enraged George, he remained composed and serene, giving the impression that whatever unconventional actions he took, he had his reasons.
In his pleasantly melodious voice, he calmly stated, “Whatever my intentions might be, they’re my business alone and have nothing to do with Louisa. Mr. Capulet, if my actions today have upset you, I apologize.
“However, regardless of whether you’re still her legal husband, forcing a woman to do anything against her will is extremely distasteful.”
With those words, the world fell silent.
Louisa, hiding behind him, felt her heart racing.
Flora’s eyes widened: Was this really the Julian she knew? How could he take what essentially meant “Even if I’m interested in your wife, there’s nothing you can do about it, and I’m going to get involved” and make it sound so elegant?
It was intoxicating. She truly saw Julian for the first time.
George, meanwhile, was seething with rage. He clenched his fists tightly, glaring at Julian through gritted

teeth. “So you’re determined to interfere, aren’t you?”
Julian ignored him and glanced calmly at Flora. “Take her first.”
Flora snapped to attention and moved forward to help Louisa off the bed. “Can you walk?”
“Yes!” With her wound treated, Louisa could barely stand.
Seeing this, George immediately stepped forward, shoving Flora aside to support his wife himself.
“Get away from me!” Louisa didn’t want his touch and pushed him away forcefully.

George stumbled back, but Louisa also lost her balance and took two steps backward. Julian caught her by
the waist, steadying her.
George saw this and lost it again. “Julian, you dare to hold my wife?”
Julian gave him a cool, detached look that seemed to say: ‘Yes, I’m holding her. What are you going to do
about it?
George was furious.
Louisa couldn’t take it anymore. “George, haven’t you made enough of a scene?”
“No!” George’s voice boomed louder than hers as he stared her down. “You let him hold you–what’s next? Are you going to leave with him? Are you going to sleep with him?”
“Shut up!” Louisa raged. “Who I leave with is none of your business. We signed the divorce papers. You’re the one dragging your feet on finalizing it. As far as I’m concerned, we’re done–completely done. Do you
understand?”
“No! You tricked me into signing those papers. We are not done!”
One wanted to leave, one refused to let go. One wanted to take her away, one wouldn’t let her go. How many more times would this drama play out?
Flora turned helplessly to Julian. “Julian, what do we do now?”
Julian looked toward the female doctor who had been watching from the sidelines. “Do you have a wheelchair?”
“Yes!” The doctor immediately wheeled one over.

Julian took it and positioned it in front of Louisa, helping her sit down. Then he told Flora, “Take her first.
George comes with me.”
“Got it!” Flora started pushing Louisa toward the exit.
George, seeing this, immediately moved to follow them. Julian was quicker, grabbing his wrist.
George turned back, glaring. “Julian, what are you doing? I never agreed to go with you!”
Julian ignored him and asked the doctor, “How much for the wheelchair?”
The doctor hurriedly waved her hands. “Don’t worry about it. That wheelchair is quite old–no charge.”
But Julian still scanned the QR code on her counter and paid 500 dollars, including the medical fees.
George watched helplessly as Louisa got into Flora’s car. He wanted to chase after her, but Julian held his
wrist firmly.
Unable to break free, he glared at Julian. “Why are you holding me back? Didn’t you see? Louisa just left.”
