Chapter 123
Flora had already driven away with Louisa.
:
Only then did Julian release George’s wrist, saying coolly, “I did see it.”
His calm response was infuriating. George raised his fist, ready to throw a punch.
Julian remained unruffled, giving him a placid glance. “I’m leaving too. Your car is out of gas, and finding a taxi here will be difficult. So
what’s it going to be? Come with me, or stay here throwing a tantrum?”
George was so furious he could have torn him apart.
It was already eleven at night when Louisa and Flora arrived home.
Sadie, knowing their situation, had been waiting at Louisa’s place and had prepared a hot meal for them. “You must be starving, Wash up
quickly and have some soup.”
Flora was fine, but Louisa had genuinely gone hungry all day, surviving on just a package of cookies and a bottle of water.
Yet now, she couldn’t eat anything. She kept scooping up soup with her spoon but couldn’t bring herself to drink it.
Sadie chuckled. “What’s wrong? My soup doesn’t taste good?”
“That’s not it.” Not wanting to worry her friends or waste Sadie’s thoughtfulness, Louisa forced down a few spoonfuls before excusing
herself to wash up.
Flora and Sadie remained deeply concerned.
Sadie whispered, asking Flora what exactly had happened today.
Flora shook her head. “I don’t know the full details. She was completely silent during the drive back. I’m really worried she might slip
back into her depression.”
“That serious?” Sadie was alarmed.
Flora nodded. “That bastard George–how much more does he plan to hurt our Louisa?”
Sadie wished she could tear George apart.
Louisa emerged from the bathroom, acting as if nothing had happened, and smiled at them. “I’m done. You two should get ready for bed

too.

Seeing her like this, Flora and Sadie nodded in unison. “Okay!” They avoided mentioning George’s name in front of her and, after washing
up, stayed with her for the night.
But tomorrow was the final day before their scheduled divorce appointment. Given George’s behavior, there was no way he would
cooperate with the divorce proceedings. What options were left?
Louisa didn’t sleep at all that night.
The next morning, Sadie left early for the law firm.
When Flora woke up, she found Louisa sitting in her wheelchair by the floor–to–ceiling window downstairs. One of the windows was open.
Louisa gazed outside, the cold morning breeze blowing against her face.
The eerie scene terrified Flora. She rushed downstairs. “Louisa, what are you doing?”
Facing the wind, Louisa’s expression was blank, her voice deathly quiet. “I just had an insane thought…”
Flora was stunned, her voice trembling. “What kind of insane thought?”
Louisa didn’t answer, still staring up at the open window.
Afraid to upset her, Flora quickly grabbed her phone and secretly texted Sadie: [It’s bad! Louisa’s trying to kill herself. Come back quickly
-I can’t handle this alone!]
Sadie: [Louisa’s suicidal? How?]
Flora: [She’s by the open window, like she’s going to jump.]
Sadie zeroed in on one word: [Like?]
Unsure how to respond, Flora backed up a few steps and took a photo of the scene to send to Sadie.
Sadie: [Are you crazy? She’s in a wheelchair–how would she climb up and jump out?]
Flora was confused. Was that true? Slightly relieved, she gently tapped Louisa’s shoulder.
Louisa turned to her, noticing the terror on her face. She looked around, seeing nothing unusual, and asked curiously, “Flora, what’s
wrong?”
“N–nothing” Flora felt awkward after Louisa’s question and, seeing her confused expression, cautiously asked, “Louisa, were you… were you thinking about suicide?”

Louisa was baffled. “Why would I kill myself?” Those people should die, not her.
Flora finally relaxed–false alarm. She quickly closed the window and asked, “So what was this insane thought you mentioned?”
Louisa nodded. “I was thinking–George refuses to divorce me, and I can’t win in court. With George’s personality, even his own father probably can’t do anything about him. In fact, no normal person can handle him. We need someone… abnormal.
“Abnormal?”
“Vivian!” Louisa coldly spoke the name.
She knew Vivian’s obsession with George bordered on madness. If Vivian found out George wanted to reconcile with Louisa, she would
likely lose her mind.

Given how the Price family spoiled Vivian, they would probably force George to marry her. With pressure from both the Price and Capulet families, George would have no choice but to agree to the divorce.
Flora understood her meaning and mentally cursed. Using Vivian against George was indeed a crazy plan.
“Putting two unstable people together creates too many variables,” Flora pointed out. “Who knows what George might do? Isn’t this
approach too complicated?”
“I can’t think of any other options,” Louisa murmured, looking down for her phone. “Where’s my phone?”
Looking up, she saw it in Flora’s hand. Louisa reached out. “Give me my phone.”
Flora handed it over. Louisa called Sadie, who answered quickly.
“Is Vivian still in detention? The Price family hasn’t bailed her out yet, right?” Louisa asked.
“That’s right.”
“They’re certainly taking their time,” Louisa laughed coldly.
As Sadie was about to speak, Louisa remembered the Price family’s request from yesterday.
“What’s this about a letter of understanding the Price family mentioned?” she asked.
“When did they talk to you about that?” Sadie replied.
“Yesterday.”
Sadie suddenly laughed. “That happened a week ago. If they’re only approaching you now, Mr. Tudor must have been protecting you quite
effectively.”

Louisa was even more confused. “What are you talking about? What does Mr. Tudor have to do with this?”
