Chapter 213
:
Louisa and Julian exchanged glances–clearly this wasn’t going to be easy.
The more urgent their situation, the more obstacles seemed to appear.
Still, they needed to check the footage. Any useful information would save them time.
After reviewing the security cameras, they did catch a glimpse of Sadie briefly appearing then disappearing from frame.
This confirmed she had been here, but they still didn’t know which floor she was on.
“Looks like we’ll have to search floor by floor to save time,” Noah suggested.
“Absolutely not!” Julian immediately rejected the idea. “There could be danger here. No one goes off alone.”
Flora and Rachel clung to each other, nodding vigorously.
The building was terrifying just to look at.
Though Louisa was anxious to find Sadie, everyone’s safety was important. These people had come here for her sake, and she couldn’t let
anyone get hurt.
She agreed with Julian.
Julian then questioned the security guard about the building, promising a generous reward once they found who they were looking for.
This perked up the guard, who eagerly explained that the building was formerly an office complex.
A few small companies still operated there, and part of it was rented out as apartments, though not many people lived there.
The guard even told them what the companies did.
It was evening now, and the hallway lights flickered ominously, resembling ghostly flames in the darkness.
Flora’s voice trembled with fear. “What kind of evidence could Sadie possibly have found in a place like this?”
Louisa wondered the same thing.
Sadie was always level–headed. She wouldn’t play this kind of joke unless she’d found concrete evidence.
Julian suddenly remembered something. “You said Sadie muted her phone?”

Louisa nodded. “First she muted it, then stopped answering calls, and now it’s completely powered off.”
“Usually only secretive organizations or extremely private clubs have such requirements, Julian said. “Does this bollding have anything
like that?”
Louisa shook her head. She didn’t know.
Her worry was transforming into a nameless dread. Without realizing it, she grabbed Julian’s arm.
He took her hand in his and spoke softly. “I’m here. It’ll be alright.”
Louisa nodded, grateful he had come with her.
The old guard, listening to their conversation, suddenly recalled something. “There is one place with that kind of rule. There’s a female medium on one of the upper floors–everyone calls her Madame Raven.
“They say she performs exorcism rituals that can protect you. Her methods are supposedly effective, but she has strict rules: all metal and electronic items must be left outside, phones must be turned off, and absolute silence must be maintained.”
“Which floor is she on?” Louisa asked immediately.
“The eighth floor.”
“The eighth circle of hell?‘ Rachel muttered.
Flora shoved her. “Shut up.”
The situation was scary enough without that comment making it worse.
When the elevator doors opened on the eighth floor, they were met with red light and choking smoke.
Flora, a horror story enthusiast, screamed and clung to Rachel.
Rachel and Louisa were calmer, not easily frightened by such things.
Louisa and Julian took the lead, with Flora and Rachel following behind them. Noah brought up the rear.
They moved forward, carefully observing their surroundings.
The entire floor seemed to be occupied solely by Madame Raven. The long corridor was bathed in a dark red glow, with strange decorations covering the walls. Combined with the thick, fragrant smoke, the place had an undeniably eerie atmosphere.
Whether or not Madame Raven had genuine supernatural abilities, she certainly knew how to set the mood.

The women gradually relaxed, realizing it was all theatrical.
However, as they passed a stairwell, a figure weating a dark red demon mask suddenly lunged out at them. The mask was covered in cracks and scorch marks, with yellow light reflecting from the eye holes and irregular metal fangs protruding from the mouth, as if ready
to bite.
Louisa, at the front of the group, screamed and threw herself into Julian’s arms.
Flora and Rachel’s screams followed immediately,
“Get away! Get away!”
“Where did this thing come from?!”
The two women squeezed their eyes shut and flailed their arms in front of them.
Then two male voices spoke up.
“Mr. Morgan?” Noah asked.
“What are you doing here?” Julian demanded.
Wallace removed the mask with a dismissive gesture, revealing a smug smile. “You all looked so mysterious, I knew something fun was happening. I couldn’t miss out, so I followed you. Good thing I’m an excellent driver, or that punk would’ve lost me. Why were you driving
so fast anyway?”
He was the one who had scared them, yet he was the one complaining.
The “punk” he referred to was, of course, Noah.
The three women realized they’d been pranked.
Flora stormed over to Wallace and started hitting him with her purse. “Fun? Does this look like fun to you? I’ll show you fun! Take that!”
She hit him repeatedly without holding back, startling Noah, who stepped back.
These beautiful women seemed so gentle, but they were actually quite violent! His fragile heart couldn’t take it.
“Okay, okay! Stop hitting me!” Wallace protested, “Why are you so aggressive? Are you even a woman?”
Flora gave him a cold smile. “Oh, I thought I was your bro, not a lady.”
She raised her purse to strike again.

Louisa patted her hand reassuringly. ‘It’s okay?
She had regained her composure and turned to look at Wallace.
Wallace squirmed under her cool gaze. ‘Why are you looking at me like that?”
