Chapter 244

I’m fine, Louisa finally said after glancing outside. “Just got tired and stopped to rest. But what about you? What are you doing here?”
This wasn’t a main road–even during the day there wasn’t much traffic, let alone at this hour when dawn was approaching. The street
was completely deserted.
“I’m… just wandering around,” Noah replied, his posture already shifted to one ready for a fight. Who would dare upset Julian’s girlfriend?
Louisa fell silent. Both Julian and Noah enjoyed mysteriously appearing out of nowhere? And Noah was clearly struggling to keep his eyes open, yet here he was, making small talk with her.
Something felt off. She suddenly had a suspicion and turned to look behind her car. She could only see a vehicle parked at an angle in the distance, but no one else.
“What are you looking for, Ms. Forbes?” Noah quickly asked. “You don’t look well. Are you sick?”
“Yes,” Louisa admitted. “My stomach started hurting suddenly. I came out to buy medicine, but all the pharmacies are closed.”
“So you were crying because of stomach pain?” Noah asked.
Louisa smiled at him, slightly embarrassed. “Yes.”
“Don’t cry. I happen to have stomach medicine in my car. Let me get it for you.”
“Really? That would be wonderful.”
“No problem at all. Wait here, I’ll go get it.”
Despite having the medicine in his pocket, Noah made a show of going to his car, circling it once before returning to Louisa. He passed the medicine and a bottle of water through the window.
Louisa took them, then looked surprised when she saw the name on the medicine box. “What a coincidence.”
“What coincidence?‘ Noah asked.
“This medicine–it’s exactly the same kind I usually take.”
Noah grinned, scratching his head. “Mr. Tudor probably put it there. His cars never used to have these things, but recently every vehicle’s trunk has a medical kit with basic tools and medicines.”
Louisa clutched the medicine box tightly, crumpling one corner.

Ms Putes, you elamat take it quickly, Bosh urged. You li twat better
* will You should go get some sleep–it’s so late?
Bigati Fm heading off. You should go rest too, Ms. Forbes.
With a wave, Rosh departed. Louisa took the medicine. Once she felt better, she started her car.
To get home, she needed to make a U–turn.

She didn’t turn around. She drove straight ahead instead, even though this route would require navigating two extra intersections.
She still didn’t turn back. She didn’t look back,
In the other car, Julian watched her vehicle disappear from view.
“Mr. Tudor, Ms. Forbes is gone. Aren’t we going to follow her?‘ Noah fidgeted anxiously beside him. “She’s still sick–she was crying from the pain earlier,”
Julian whipped his head around. “She was crying?”
“Yes,” Noah confirmed.
Julian’s brow furrowed deeply. The concern in his eyes was so evident that even Noah, who had never been in love, could see it.
“Girls are delicate, aren’t they?” Noah offered. “It’s normal to cry when you’re in pain and sick, right?”
Julian shook his head. “She has never cried from stomach pain before.”
Even when George had taken Vivian and abandoned Louisa to David, when her stomach had been perforated and she’d nearly lost her life -she hadn’t shed a single tear.
When she’d been drugged and cornered by five men, slashing her wrist three times in desperation–she hadn’t cried then either.
Yet today, she had cried.
Julian leaned back against the seat and closed his eyes heavily. He had pushed too hard, too fast. He had driven her to this point…
By the time Louisa got home, her stomach pain had subsided considerably. She washed up quickly and went straight to bed. She slept
well.

When she woke, it wasnt to her alarm but to a series of message notifications from Hazel
About that boy’s remains I’ve found out they’re hidden in a rural area of Virefla Highlands
It might be in the mountains. I’m not sure about the exact location, just heard it’s somewhere with small hills, Gowers, grass,
pond, and a wooden cabin.]
[You were his classmate. Does this description remind you of anywhere?]
Louisa felt frustrated. Virella Highlands again? She’d heard this name several times recently.
Julian was going there for a date. Mark’s body was hidden there. What kind of place was this? Suitable for weddings, burials, and dates a
at once?
Whatever. It didn’t matter. Mark’s information had been sent to Hazel by Sadie. Now that they had news, she should consult with Sadie
Louisa called her directly. “Sadie, are you at home?”
“I’m already at the law firm. Why would I be home? What’s up?” Sadie replied.
Only then did Louisa realize it was already 8:45 in the morning. Damn it. She had overslept and would be late for work.
“Wait for me at the firm,” Louisa said. “I’m coming over now.”
“OK!” Sadie agreed.
After hanging up, Louisa called Marlee and asked her to request half a day off. Then she quickly freshened up and drove to Sadie’s law
firm.
As soon as they met, Sadie asked, “Did Hazel send you information?”
“Yes,” Louisa confirmed.
‘Perfect timing. I have new developments too,” Sadie said. “Vivian got drunk last night and was talking to herself. I just extracted the audio this morning.”
“Let’s listen to the recording first,” Louisa suggested.
Sadie took out her phone, found the recording, and pressed play.
Vivian’s voice was slurred with intoxication, her words jumbled, but she mentioned Mark.
Someone asked her who Mark was–probably a servant from the Price family. The voice was unfamiliar to Louisa, who didn’t dwell on it.

They heard Vivian saying haltingly, Mark Warner, it’s Mark Warner… Listen, I hid him… That place it so beautiful, and white clouds, high little hills, and a small pond… He would love it… But nobody can find him, nobody carept me, except
Louisa and Sadie looked at each other. Louisa took out her phone and opened Hazel’s messages. “What Hazel described matches standby what Vivian said, but I’m confused. Vivian never mentioned Virella Highlands–how did Hazel know it was there?”
