Chapter 250
430
Lepicas apple munching slowed as she looked out the window. Was this really the only five–star hotel in Vicella HigManda? Why was
everyone gathering berst
She suddenly felt the urge to switch hotels. She didn’t want to be here. Didn’t want to see him with Abigail.
Sadie noticed her silence and quietly moved to her side. She spotted Julian outside the window, then glanced at Louisa, who was barely making progress on her apple despite pretending to eat it.
Sadie couldn’t help but smile. I thought you said this apple was delicious. Why aren’t you enjoying it anymore?”
“It is delicious,” Louisa insisted. To prove her point, she took an exaggerated bite and retreated to the couch to continue eating.
Sadie didn’t call her out on the obvious lie. Truthfully, she hoped Louisa could move past the trauma from her previous marriage and be brave enough to love again. After all, Louisa was still so young.
But Julian coming here for a date? Being flirty with Louisa while seeing someone else? Sadie couldn’t figure out what kind of person Julian really was. Better to drop the subject for now.
Shortly after, Louisa received a message from Hazel saying that Lily had convinced Vivian to come to Virella Highlands. If all went as planned, they’d arrive by evening.
Most of the credit for this progress belonged to Madame Raven. Two days ago, Sadie had met with her, and after discussing the situation, Madame Raven had contacted Lily directly, claiming to have found a solution.
Lily immediately went to see Madame Raven, who instructed her to first locate the boy’s remains, secure them with a silver tag engraved. with Latin prayers, then bring the remains to where the boy was killed. There, she should sprinkle holy water over them before burning everything completely.
Madame Raven emphasized that this needed to be done quickly, preferably over the weekend. Missing this window meant there would be no remedy, and the boy’s ghost would haunt Vivian forever.
Lily was terrified enough to immediately prepare to bring Vivian over. With that, the first phase of their plan was successful.
The second phase involved finding Becky and convincing her to help them against Vivian, ideally by testifying in court. If she was too afraid to oppose the Price family, they just needed her to help identify the location Vivian had mentioned. Then Louisa and Sadie could
find it themselves.
Alternatively, they could follow Lily and Vivian under cover of darkness when they went to dig up the remains, gather evidence, and call the police immediately.
They’d even considered what to do if the Price family used their wealth to silence law enforcement. In that case, Louisa would release evidence of Vivian’s murder online, letting public opinion pressure the family.

Of course, if Vivian still escaped justice, it would only prove how terrifyingly powerful the wealthy truly were.
But regardless, Louisa wanted to try. She had prepared for the worst.
Sadie checked the time on her phone. “It’s past eleven. Let’s get lunch, and afterward we’ll go find Becky.”
Louisa nodded. ‘Let’s go.”
They took Jacob with them and headed out.
As they approached the restaurant, Sadie suddenly clutched her stomach. “You two go ahead and order. I need to use the restroom.
“Are you okay?” Louisa asked, concerned.
“I’m fine. Go on.” Sadie waved them off.
“Don’t worry about her,” Jacob assured Louisa. “My sister’s healthy as a horse. Never been sick a day in her life.”
“Alright then.”
Louisa reluctantly continued to the restaurant with Jacob. They found a table, and she let him take charge of ordering.
Instead of looking at the menu right away, Jacob poured a glass of warm water and offered it to Louisa. “Ms. Forbes, you’ve been snacking all day. Have some water first.”
“Thanks,” she said, accepting the glass.
Just then, three people walked into the restaurant. Julian was in front, and he immediately spotted this interaction. His expression darkened as he silently took a seat at the table behind Louisa.
Louisa hadn’t noticed them.
Noah fidgeted, wanting to go over and greet Louisa.
Teddy quickly stopped him, making a shushing gesture.
Noah frowned at him, thinking, ‘What’s with all this sneaking around? Real men face things head–on!‘
Teddy inwardly despaired, ‘An unpredictable boss, a bodyguard with no brain, and me just trying to survive.
‘God, end me now.‘
Meanwhile, Louisa noticed Jacob still studying the menu. “Nothing you like?” she asked.

Jacob shook his head and whispered, ‘Louisa, everything’s so expensive here. Maybe we should eat somewhere else?
Having grown up in poverty and relying on his sister for support, he couldn’t bring himself to order such pricey food.
หล
Louisa laughed and ruffled his hair like she used to when he was little. “Just order anything you like. You’re still growing–you need
proper nutrition! Don’t worry, I can afford to take care of you!”
She spoke with such generous confidence.
The truth was, Louisa had always known about Sadie’s financial situation. Back in college, she and Sadie had worked various part–time
jobs together. Louisa had been self–sufficient, keeping all her earnings for herself.
Sadie’s situation was different–she needed to support both herself and Jacob, which stretched her finances thin.
Louisa often shared her money with the siblings, sometimes even slipping Jacob pocket money behind Sadie’s back.
In Louisa’s heart, Jacob was like her own little brother, so her words came naturally.
Jacob, however, blushed at her comment.
While ordering, he leaned close to Louisa with each selection, asking if this dish or that was okay. Louisa, distracted by her thoughts, responded absently, as if humoring a child.
Little did she know, the table behind them witnessed every interaction, and Julian heard their entire conversation.
Julian’s expression grew even more severe as he coldly stared at Jacob. Could Louisa really be interested in this manipulative kid?
Noah and Teddy couldn’t help but gossip, their heads pressed together.
“Did you hear that? Ms. Forbes said ‘I can afford to take care of you.‘ I’m so jealous! Why can’t I find a sweet woman to keep me?” Noah
whispered.
Teddy remained silent. He wouldn’t mind being kept by a woman either.
Noah continued, “Though this kid doesn’t look much younger than me. He’s cute, fit, not bad at all.”
Teddy nodded. “I agree. Look at him–healthy complexion and sweet talk, making Louisa so happy. What woman wouldn’t like a man who knows how to please her?”
Julian overheard them and smacked Teddy on the head with a menu. ‘Shut up and order!”
The sharp command startled Louisa. Julian? He was sitting right behind her?
